A few thing you can try; 1) Try peeling it off in a rolling motion instead of just pulling it straight away from the board. 2) make sure the board is room temperature ( ie ~20°C ) 3) Try wetting the paper slightly before pulling it off ( use one of those spray things for flowers - mister?, vaporizer? ) 4) Try giving it a lick with a heat gun to melt the glue ( just be careful not to over do it and melt the foam aswell ) Depending on the foam type you may need to mix & match

Been thinking about getting into making custom minis by having them 3d printed though some online service.
Modeling the characters is mostly just a question of time, where I think is the problem will occur is in making the file good for printing.
I mean there are plenty of guides online about making model ready for printing with various types of printers ( detail size, wall thickness, drain holes, etc ) but some times I read that people are still having problems / need to modify models that looking at them in blender seem to satisfy all of the above.
So what ( in your experience ) makes a file good, or perhaps more interestingly what makes it bad?

Just found a decent townsfolk set HereThat gave me a good laugh: Obviously I know what they meant but I still can't help smiling over the idea of a 21 foot ( 6½ meters) figurines

Thanks. Look forward to seeing your videos. Does the eye look that bad guys? I thought it looked fairly rounded and okay as is. I know I need to smooth it out still; just wasn't finished with it yet. Think the eye looks fine tbh - if need you could always sand it before painting ( iirc sculpy can be sanded once baked ) The sculpture it self caused instant nostalgia ; or am I the only one seeing the resemblance? ^^

Open it in blender, select the edge verticies and hit F
Once you done that you may want to normalize vertices ( crtl-n if memory serves )

If you plan to make more than one or two of these you should just get a bag of leds and a grab bag of resisters, each wont cost you much more than buying it individually. ( especially if you get it from china/e-bay )

Sgtslag, printer is only $250 as of late And I see a large number of households owning them in the near future. I've already paid for the printer in savings around the house and on the gaming table. Price is really only one concern, the 3d printers are not really plug & play yet - nor maintenance free. Until it becomes an appliance in truth I don't think 3d printers will become mainstream

/golfclap Awesome job as always. Looks like I have more money to spend. I think I really might need to get myself another printer just to keep up =) erhm.. I don't think that emote meant what you think it does - unless you actually meant to show disdain and be-little the work.. but your second sentence seems to contradict that

Nice video! Just one thing there is a very noticable background hiss ( atleast with head phones ), you can use a program like audacity ( www.audacityteam.org/ ) to easily remove it ( Effect > Noise removal ) just select a couple of seconds where you are silent and use that to generate the noise profile.

Howdy, How much for a printed set? Painted or unpainted... I don't have a printer and do not plan on getting one, but I want a set of these! EXALT BUTTON!!!, Kev! P.S. The recipient still gets the karma even with the error message, so... EXALT away! Printed set would be great but I kinda doubt it would be sensible priced between shipping and electiricity used. I suppose I could finally try out www.3dhubs.com ( seems to be "uber" for 3d printers )

TM means unregistered trademark - "Using the unregistered trademark symbol indicates you haven't registered the mark but are giving notice of your rights." Source: info.legalzoom.com/registered-vs-unregistered-trademark-21089.htmlPrior use invalidates their claim however. If Scotty want's to retain 'tilescape' as a trademark - he must challenge their use formally ( eg. send them a letter asking them not to use the name for competing products ). Now the company behind what your linking to seems to be a 1 man circus and their 'product' is by-nc-nd ( meaning anyone can distribute it for free ) so I kinda doubt the will respons to the chalange with anything other than by removing that name. Disclaimer: IANAL

Researched this a few years ago - but the projects ended up in the "i'll get to it soon" pile while waiting for parts.. >_> anyway start here; www.sjbaker.org/wiki/index.php?title=A_Simple_3D_ScannerI seem to rember that there were also som andoid apps that could do it, but as I recall they had very poor surface reconstruction.

Painted my first mini in 20 years or so, was quite proud of my self until I had a look at the photos I took of it...
Maybe next time

Shame the "flesh and faces" image is so heavily compressed - the banding makes it hard to make out the flesh. The thumbnail looks ace tho

Hello all, I am new in crafting and my main issue is about painting. I am using acrylic paints and as far as I know there are two different techniques for painting, water and dry brush. My question is about those two. When are you using water brush and when are you using dry brush. Thank you in advance. Wet brush for shadows and dirtying/weathering, dry brush for highlights

First off It's not been a problem for a few days now so the credit card of the fraudster has likely bounced by now.
Secondly nobody asked for help.

All walls that does not support a door, window, secret passage, torch, etc I would lower to be only 1-2 cm high else your going to have problem manipulating the minis in there or even seeing them.
Other than that they look fine - I especially like the winding stair / door combo
