This scheme is gaining speed! Since curufin said he'll send something my way back, I'll send three packages out as well. What's in? Some pasta types, a little fungoid goodness, various non-everyday crafting materials (no cardboard or styrofoam! *g*), ...and maybe some dino miniatures.

As I am about to start making some science fiction terrain, I have collected some (formerly very expensive) lab components in the form of glass syringe and tubing sets. I plan on fitting these with LED lights and mounting them as "Glowing energy conduits", using excess silicon tubing to make various power cables and such. I have two bags of these things and really, I don't need the second one. So, if you are interested in some sci fi crafting components, let me know!

I just received my package today from curufin! I can't believe how much stuff you packed into that box! I am going to start setting aside a pile today and see how many boxes I can fill with goodies. The stash you sent me is probably half as much as my total stash but seeing the items you sent, they got me thinking of other things I have that could be used for crafting. I plan to have at least 1 package out early this week but I am hoping to come up with enough to get 3 out.

Yeah, there are lots of weird things in that stash...I'm not even sure what most of it is. But, it seems like there could be tons of potential. I cant wait to see what you come up with (because I have been a little stumped myself). Enjoy!

Received mine today - was very similar to Meph package. I can definitely use this stuff when I get back to crafting for Dark Heresy. Thanks curufin ! I also will be sending some goodness out soon.

I've got three more packages packed! I'd prefer to send out two of them to someone inside Germany or at least the EU, to save shipping costs (shipping one parcel to overseas is more expensive than all the three packages together). Anyone nearby? A general thought: It might be good if all the people on the list on page 1 would let curufin add their country. This information would be public then, but stating my home country isn's really something that hurts my privacy. Jm2C...

I think I remember chiefsgtbradley stating he was in Germany. He would have to confirm that... Shipping is expensive. Just for a little reference: I (living in Michigan, USA) sent out a parcel to tauster living in Germany. The Parcel weighed exactly 2 pounds (907g) including the box. All the dimensions of the box were under 12" (30.5cm). I was able to mail it out First-Class International, using the post office. The total cost was $21USD. I printed the labels at home which saved $3. $21 seemed reasonable since UPS wanted $96 and FEDEX wanted $143 for the same parcel. I would shop around. Just food for thought...

This trading idea sounds really great but I have no idea what I possibly could send someone that isn't somewhat unique or special. All I have is just ordinary and probably easily available about anywhere.

Alexis, here are some tips. Food containers, particularly confectionary, are a good start. Old toys, unusual packaging, parts of old household items. Local flora, seed pods, bark. Any beads, chains, cheap jewellery that is junk. Unusual dried food stuffs, rice, pasta, seeds. Broken/Junk electronic parts, small motor components, old wire or tubing. Caps from old make-up or perfume bottles, drink bottles, jars or other unusual containers. Also, keep in mind that things like Foam Core are much more expensive overseas, so even off cuts are more valued to crafters in the Southern Hemisphere, and conversely, things like Glue Sticks (hot or office) are cheaper over there.

That was easy...using the profiles, many members had their general location listed. I just plugged them in. Page 1 nearly complete.

curufin, thanks! chiefsgtbradley: You're from Germany like me, so I would send one of the three parcels to you. However I don't have much modern or scifi materials, so I leave the decision to you. There might be others whose stuff floats your boat better than mine. If you'd take some junk high-quality crafting materials from me, please PM me your adress, so I can send a package your way.

Thanks for the great tips! I live in Switzerland and pretty much everything is very expensive here. Also you can't get a lot of stuff that people eg. in the US can get due to safety laws and such. So it's kind of hard to think of unique things but I will definitely take your ideas into consideration and look out for something that might be interesting. If I can't find something I can still send some chocolate ;-)
