Anyone have any big projects for 2018?
Ive got a few 10mm fantasy armies that need some closure, and all the assorted terrain for them. Perhaps 2'x2' modular tiles for the game board.
Finish casting and painting my hirst arts field stone modular tiles(ugh... I bought them, might as well use them!)
Finish my latest 40k dreadnaught, 8 murheens and commander....
Finish the Chaos WHFB starter set....
Write up 2x 5thE campaigns for my groups(one evil on Toril, and one in custom world)
Begin first campaign for Big Eye Small Mouth 3e....
I havnt even opened my box sets for Bolt Action and Frost Grave!
Oh yeah, and in between all that I'll go to work and raise 2 kids.

We need you, Mr.Scott DM of all DMs, Crafter of all Crafters to render a topographical map of your towns or kingdom for your campaign(s) Imagine, something no one has quite done before, only coming close per Hex tile for Settlers of Catan, etc, but rather one homogeneous map with paper towel mountains and craft bead buildings for cities and towns, and hey might as well put a "Here be dragons" type of monster sticking out of the oceans, etc. Props to jackmatt's post on maps for the inspiration for this! Something akin to this, but not in hex or grid, just a map made 3d for players to oogle at in between fights Combined with this(not mine)

This is something DM Scotty would be able to reproduce in an amazing fashion!
Cool find!

Wyloch, do you play any other scale wargames, like 10mm or 15mm? There is a distinct lack of 10/15mm wargaming terrain on youtube........ HINT... HINT! Other than multiplying all numbers by 0.35 / 0.53 what do you imagine the difference would be? 10mm scale figs require a different approach and technique, plus I'd like to see if Wyloch plays any like Epic 40k or Warmaster, etc. I dont need instructions per se, the current vids are relaxing to watch the crafters do their thing.

I used the puzzle last friday, and it worked great, well received by the group although I wish I could have introduced it in a different way.
Long story short, Ive got a large strip of coast ran by 5 dragon kings who are in subdued war between each other, all being metallics, they arent overtly attacking each other. Alot of skullduggery and subversion.
I used the puzzle replacing names and "colleges" with kingdom names.
This was a way to introduce the kingdom's basic history, animosity, and names for the realms, one of the reasons I liked it.
As far as game play, they were each given a line separately by different NPCs with a warning that to enter certain gates you would at least need to know the true order, which is a contention between the kingdoms anyway.
I let them chew on it for a minute, they devoured it and took it seriously in solving it. Once they were in need of the answer, one player had it all wrong but was corrected by the other players.
Credit where credit is due, nice one and thank you!!!!!!!!!!

I thought about using a Bo Derrick joke but I failed, and just looked at a few pictures of her instead.

I have a rule when I do puzzles in my games. If I think it's too easy, it's still too hard. Working out a puzzle in front of your friends with the pressure of advancing the plot of a story after drinking a few beers and letting your brain relax after work all day is generally just more effort than your average gamer wants to put into playing a game. So I make 'em real simple and fast usually. Every now and then, if I have something they can ponder between sessions, I'll do something more difficult and involved. Agreed! This one meets those criteria, and I'll be using it in my game vs my players who also have "the pressure of advancing the plot of a story after drinking a few beers and letting their brain relax after work all day."

I need to make cavern tiles, yours turned out nice!
The curling is a big deal no doubt, unless you get a hold of some vinyl/linoleum floor tiles or something else.
Ive been weighing my foam core bases down while drying and even for a while after that. It helps quite a bit but its time consuming. Ive went so far as to glue large tongue depressors on the bottom to combat curling on hallways, but a year on they still curl enough to spin around awkwardly.
Have you considered making molds out of the cavern tiles, and phasing out the card/paper based scatter?

I think yours turned out fabulously! I think I speak for most when I say 90% of players at the table dont notice or appreciate the forethought us crafters put into the level of detail on our pieces! I dont have any pics of the big disasters, but I do have the one that haunts be the most. The Tower.... This beautiful disaster, this beauty with poison lips, her rainments cover all her ills! Building the Tower diaryEverything was going great, from covering seams and gaps to my first attempt at using coffee-flock. Almost done painting, and I notice something is off...wait, the whole tower is off... what the...?? While it may not be as noticable to many except me, I see it everytime and am reminded of the mystery of levelling. Did I mount it crooked, or did it settle while I wasnt looking? I'll never know!

I love it!
The wood especially, it looks like some real aged, scuffed and blood/beer stained wood, perfect for a pub!
Paint those townies up and update us with them when youre done!
PS The Mage needs to cast fireball and forget the guy in the cell.
"Sorry boys, the dungeon has spiders.... burn the place to the ground."
