1:48 scale, brown plastic mini dollhouse furniture.
Hopefully this is not a misplaced and/or useless post, seeing that it's less to do with minis and more well...Dungeon clutter. But I got these for pretty cheap, GBP 2,75 or $3,50 per set (+shipping) on ebay. They are pre-painted, and quality is a bit iffy (for example the mirror sticker on the bedroom vanity piece is on crooked)
They are also hollow and have no back piece, wich might need fixing. Since this will likely be more visible when used as DnD terrain, rather than the dioramas or sideview dollhouses they are intended for.

Found a few figures browsing Goodwill for board games that haven't shown up in this thread yet. I didn't have a good setup with a grid behind it, and I also don't own any actual D&D figures proper. So I'm using a Jace from Arena of the Planeswalkers, which I think is on the same scale as D&D. First is from a Chronicles of Narnia board game. 4 kids, scaled properly. Child NPCs are hard to find minis for, so far! Next is the Pirateology board game. There's 5 pirates total, of a variety of clothes beyond typical "pirate". Scaled a bit larger than 28mm, but close enough. Game also has 5 small model ships, skull shaped dice, gold coins, and a big skull. Plenty of cool stuff for crafting. This wasn't goodwill, it was on clearance on Hasbro's site for 4.99. Ordered it along with two copies of each of the Arena games, free shipping! It's Civil War Risk. Instead of the usual mass of super tiny minis, it has 5 28mm minis and then a ton of little disks for the armies. Definitely needs some hacking and painting, but the poses are nice and dynamic.

Got a copy of a game called Wizardology. Was hoping to use the wizard figures for D&D, but they were bigger than I expected. There were 6 wizard figures and 6 familiars. D&D Sword Mage for comparison. The figures were pre-painted.

Where do you live to get this assortment at the thrift store? I just picked up a cliff face from a kids toy set at GoodWill, but thats a rare treat! I have gotten several items off shopgoodwill.co*. Mostly discontinued stuff. Their S&H is usually pretty high, so you have to factor it into the cost. I have seen some real good deals, like a MtG Black Lotus card as part of lot, several HeroQuest games and some Mage Knight lots. I am not a collector, so often I bid low and hope for the best. A couple times I wished I lived in the Seattle area. They seem to get a lot of gaming stuff there. I have also found good deals on other websites.

Mage Knight figures are much scarcer on e-Bay these days. I had a Zombie Centaur army made from MK figures, until I sold it. Wish I had it again. I love the MK figures which I can use, but since I play 2e AD&D without gunpowder, that rejects a lot of MK figures for my games. I downloaded photo catalogs, years ago, sifting through them to find figure types I could use for my games, then I made a list of names, and searched e-Bay... Nowadays, mostly I find large lots of figures, most of which, I can't use... Sad state of things, for cheapskate gamers, like me. Thanks for sharing. Cheers!

I got a few in lots with HeroClix figures. Sadly, they are getting a lot harder to find. I do not use the ones with firearms either.

I like HeroClix normals for modern figures, but there aren't a lot of different poses. Course, I'm paying around $0.50 per figure most times, so I'm not too fussy. But as you both have said, it's getting harder to find them!

But as you both have said, it's getting harder to find them! CoolStuffInc still has a lot of HC minis for $0.25 useable for D&D. Some of favorites are Capt. America 006, Hawkeye 004, Hogun 031, Hulk 005, 021, Prism 013, Sif004, Thor 018, Punisher 003, Harpoon 011, Kirigi 033, Mammoth 011, and Silverclaw 026.
