I can see using that Groot nanofig as an Iron Golem (painted appropriately, of course). I have tons of Ghost figures, mostly MK stuff. I'm always looking out for Golem type figures -- there is no right/wrong design for such. Thanks for sharing. Need to go to Wal-Mart suddenly... Cheers!

Pretty good find. The Demento does look like it would be a good wraith. The Groot figure has very poor detail, but will be a good golem.

Saw a post on the Facebook group about the World of Nintendo Metroids. Here's a pic of them next to D&D scale miniatures for those interested in picking them up. A: World of Nintendo 6 Inch Metroid MSRP $14.99USD at Toys R Us and Amazon. Had a limited release so is rare. It is commonly resold online for $35-50 USD. B: World of Nintendo 2.5 inch Walmart Impulse buy wave Metroid. Found in Checkout lines. MSRP $3.50-3.99 USD. Has a hard plastic dome. Very common and easy to find C: Jace magic the gathering board game figure D: D&D Human female mini E: Old Metroid I made a few years back and posted to the boards. F: World of Nintendo 2.5 inch carded Metroid. Sold in Target, Toys R Us, and Walmart in the action figure aisles. MSRP $3.99 USD G: World of Nintendo 2.5 inch Samus Aran. Sold in Target, Toys R Us, and Walmart in the action figure aisles. MSRP $3.99 USD. Can also be found in the Walmart checkout line wave. Here is a homebrewed D&D 3.5 Metroid's stats. www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Metroid_(3.5e_Creature)I used these stats with very little changes in a Pathfinder encounter I ran a while back. The PCs found a crashed Mindflayer spaceship. All the mindflayers were dead desiccated husks. As they got deeper into the ship they encountered giant lizard monster that flung thorns from its body, a Solar Dragon (Purple space dragon in Pathfinder Bestiary 4) and an Elder Brain in a glass jar guarded by several metroids that were never named but simply described as floating gelatinous fanged parasites. When the Metroids hit the battlegrid they realized I had been running them through a D&D themed Metroid game, complete with Kraid, Ridley, and a Mother Brain boss fights. The players loved it.

I think there is a planned Nintendo MicroLand Metroid series coming soon...not 100% sure there, but if so I assume they'll be about the right scale.

I got these minis for pretty cheap on Ebay. To be honest, I was expecting crappy tube-toy quality, but I was pleasantly suprised! They are made by a Russian company called Tehnolog. Supposedly they are 54mm scale, but for these guys I didnt mind them being bigger and chunkier. But for their other ranges (orcs, dwarves, undead etc.) The scale will probably be much more noticably off. They are produced in both hard and soft plastic, pictured below are the soft version. I chose the soft since they where cheaper. Costing me about $2,5 for each set of four minis. A total of $10 shipping to Sweden included. The sculpts look good to me, and the material reminds me of the bendy Dungeons & Dragons prepainted minis. There was few mold lines and very little flash, not more than any Games Workshop model I have seen. I havent put any paint or primer to them yet, but I'm sure it will be fine. Probably the hard plastic ones will have crisper details, but I cannot say for sure. Included in the pictures for scale, is a D&D Desert of desolation farmer. And a random armored Games Workshop horse from my bitsbox. Hopefully I managed to take useful mugshots.

I was thinking how the Undead Wariors from Tehnolog line would look like compared to DDM. I tried doing this simulation through various comparisons of different pics where the minotaur and this female warior were next to each other and I ended up with this : imgur.com/a/XaHTlWhat do you guys think? I'll paint the rest of the minis in the group as skeleton fire giants (black armour) but use them as generic Large skeletons too.

Picked up a some minis for Heroscape Master Set: Rise of the Valkyrie. They are about 28mm Heroic scale. They are a rubbery plastic. On most of them only one foot is pinned down. The detail on the top of the base is a decal. They are pre-painted and the detail is okay. It is an eclectic mix: Vikings, Samurai, Airborne, Mechs, Men in Black, and Marro. Most shown here with WotC Swordmage in center. Grid in background is 1" squares. The bases are big at 1 1/4" dia. Tarn Viking warriors Izumi Samurai Marro Airborne Elite Krav Maga agents (MiB) Zettian guards (Mechs/power armor) Mimring (Dragon: brass/bronze/copper) Zettian Champion HeroClix LotR Thorin Oakenshield, Swordmage, 25mm metal bugbear (circa 1980) for comparison Note: T&T has most of these in singles and groups at good prices. Mimring the dragon is only $2.49.

I found a set of the NECA hunger games minis pictured on the second page. But I'm stumped, how the heck do you remove them from their pedestals?

I think I put them in a cup of hot water to weaken the glue then popped them off with a flathead screwdriver. I separated them from the base without cutting them off.

I used the pedestals with the True Heroes mythic legends bucket Sorcerer to make a few statues. They are a perfect base for the figure.

I've been looking for one for months. Can't find one, aside from people wanting $40-$50 online.

Lol! Well in fantasy games I guess you can have anything you like. But I find it amusing / sad that the manufacturers apparently expect that their customers won't know that arachnids and scorpions have exoskeletons, not bones.

I bought a large bag of those large, 2"-tall, skeletons last year, from another supplier. I painted the non-bone portions, then I applied The Dip to them (Royal Walnut shade Minwax Polyshades Urethane Stain). They can be seen in battle, in my 2e BattleSystem photos: goo.gl/photos/nkkU1b9zXeDYrG11A. Try zooming in for a better view, using the scroll wheel on your mouse, if applicable. They turned out GEtGW (Good Enough to Game With, at arm's length). Cheers!

Shhhhh, you'll warn the masses and those manufacturers will go out of business!

Had hoped to have some new minis to post, but had FedEx package stolen from my porch. So, a couple repeats... Nissa Revane (as from box) and painted Pummelroot Elemental from MtG: Arena of the Planeswalkers, flanking a D&D Swordmage - A painted Hell hound from the same set -

Flinn the Viking Champion and Syrarris from Heroscape: Rise of the Valkyrie flanking Gideon Jura from MtG:Arena of the Planeswalkers - And, more Heroscape Vikings flanking HeroClix Thorin - I know, no D&D mini for comparison. You guys can figure it out. All original pre-paints, Thorin is re-based.
