DnDPaladin, Yeah, he's got a tongue. It just isn't sticking out of his head. When I tried the hanging tongue it looked silly. Erasmas, Instead of a hookah I gave him a cigar. I figured it's the perfect affectation for a crime boss. Here are three shots of the final sculpt. The Green Stuff on the back of his head was added when I realized the folds in back needed to be under some skin. I already mentioned the tongue. I added some definition to the nostrils, as well as the forehead. The folds of skin were added to give the body some texture and character. Not sure when I'll get this guy painted. I need to make sure the green stuff is completely cured, so I won't even get to prime him till tomorrow. That means Sculpey the Hutt won't be seeing a brush till next week. Now I got to find something else to sculpt, because I forgot how fun this is.

He/she is sufficiently disgusting!
I love it.
And man, with how good you are with a brush... I can hardly wait to see him/her all painted up!

That is better than any Hutt sculpt I have ever seen. I tip my hat to you, sir. Simply outstanding work! I am very jealous of you sculpting skills!

Looks awesome!
And BTW, Hutts are hermaphrodites.

Thank you everyone. I haven't had this much fun sculpting since I started making the Stone Giants.
grandinquisitorkris, I was just discussing this on another forum. Some stories say Hutts are hermaphrodites. Other stories disagree. I choose to refer to all Hutts as male, and leave it vague. Seems easier then doing all that research.
DnDPaladin, I know what you mean about the cigar. Since Sculpey the Hutt has such big fingers they are pretty much that same size as the cigar. Like you said, the paint will solve that. Oh, and sculpting a Slave Leia is beyond my skill level right now. I shudder to think how awful that figure would look. Probably like a 60 year old linebacker in a metal bikini.
Erasmas, disgusting was what I was after, along with powerful, and mobile. It's hard to be threatened by something that can't get off it's throne slab.
curufin, you should take some pride in this too. Not only was it your Troll thread that got me back to sculpting, but I used one of the tools you made for all the the groves in his skin. Now go make some Star Wars terrain. I'm dying to see what you will do.
Not sure what my next sculpt will be. Any ideas?

Tauntaun could be nice. If your story brings them to Hoth.

nvdberg, a Tauntaun would be cool. It's on the list. So, a question for the crafters. How much bigger is the Imperial Assault Stormtrooper on the left then the Action Fleet figure on the right? I'm looking for percentages or fractions here. See, I need to know how this Action Fleet toy scales up to the Imperial Assault figure. That way I know how much bigger to make another, larger Action Fleet toy. This one... Any help would be appreciated. I'm not saying this will be my next sculpt. I will say that it's pretty high on my list though. Let me know what you think.

15 to 20 percent I wager.
After keeping a ruler to my screen I'd say around 18%

Yeah, I'd say about 20% for the figure. The dewback seems really close to me though. Most pictures show the dewback's back height to be about as tall as a human.

I think you guys are right. And if the toy is about the right size I'm lucky. I have six of these things, so there's really no need to make more. I just have to make some Stormtrooper riders now. Expect some cut up WOTC plastic figures coming to a Michka near you.
Thank you gentlemen.

Actually DnDPaladin, I already have a Rancor figure. It's shown on Page 1 of this thread. While it's not perfect, it is huge and intimidating when set next to the figures. I might get around to making a rancor eventually, but it's not a priority.
Now Mynocks on the other hand...

curufin, you just named this guy. He's Sculpley the Hutt from now on. And I'd love to see what you come up with for Star Wars. I've had a few ideas for terrain, but I'm sure you'd be able to make something really special. Challenge accepted! I'm not play SW right now, but I'll make a little piece.

using my calipers on the screen , and adding in a bit for the pose , the action fleet one is 84% as tall .
and check this guy out , his videos are in spanish , and his stuff looks like it should be horrible as he is putting it together till you see the finished products and then its like WOW , i need to try that ! i thought about your SW build out since some of his stuff would look good as filler terrain and factory industrial .

curufin, when you take a challenge you don't mess around. voodoo, it may take a little while longer to get the Hutt painted up. Someone on Lead Adventure Forum recommended that I get it cast, and I'm considering it. I'll have to get some prices and other information. grandinquisitorkris, I've bookmarked that video for later viewing. The thumbnail is pretty intriguing. Also, your avatar freaks me out every time I see it. Update time once again. As I said before, no painted Hutt yet, or Dewback for that matter. Instead I have some terrain pieces. Specifically, three Sliding Doors. These are made from sheet plastic found in most hobby shops. It's more expensive then cardboard, but lots easier to get precise cuts with. The design is based on DM Scotty's Sci-fi Doors video. They have and a couple extra layers for the door so I can add the diagonal seam. That added a couple layers to the frame too. The base piece is extended around the edges to add depth to the frame. The ribbed pieces around the edges are also sheet plastic that comes with raised channels to simulate roofing for model railroad builders. The door frame is 50mm wide (2 inches), which means they will fit in a Wylock, DMG or DM Scotty style terrain set up. I haven't added the magnet sheet to the bases yet, but I will. And one little extra today. I present Captain Rex. (You were expecting a Clone Trooper, weren't you?) Captain Rex is the pilot droid of the Star Tours shuttle I posted earlier. This little guy was originally inside the shuttle, but since he wouldn't get seen there very often I figured he could join the rest of the figures. More to come.

Fantastic doors! I would never have guessed they were scratch-built.
