And as a follow-up so all contact paper - laminating tips are together: if you laminate something and it has a few bubbles, you can run it through the laminator a second time and most will go away.

Impressive job! I always seem to get a bubble somewhere in the clear contact paper despite all the years I have been covering kids' and grandkids' stuff. Doesn't stop me from using it, though. Laminators are good for flat sheets, but lots of things won't fit through one.

non-photo blue or non-repro blue. Commercial designers used it the way you describe. TSR used it so people couldn't photocopy their maps and hand them out free to their friends. Gave that up when photocopiers got better. You can still buy non-photo blue pencils. I got them for my grandkids to use for nature drawing. You sketch in your basics with the blue, then go over it with regular pencil or ink once you get the shape the way you want.
Memories ... I still have that Geomorph set around somewhere!

A long way from Deafnala's now, but I CAN see a bit of the underlying paint

Curious about the design. Does that beholder have unusually large eyes or is the green and yellow paint making them look larger? By unusually large, I mean larger than other models I have seen. Who knows how large beholder eyes really are...

Well, at least he reminded me of this old post of yours. Now I am making a list of things I might want to do with a CD case - before I recycle all the ones I saved for "just in case". Starting with this idea.

Now THAT's a mimic I don't want to meet!
The only thing I remember from 1977 is Tegel Manor. And while that's a "funhouse" dungeon - a style your terrain pieces might go with - I don't remember anything about reflected light there.

Impressive detail! You must have done significant prep work on it - I see nothing of the usual 3D-print ridges.

Grenadier Wizard's Room Boxed set 2009. Yes, there was a bookcase and a resting giant lizard, also. I think that resting lizard may be the only miniature my son actually painted. He liked collecting miniatures, but not painting them.

Wow, you are bringing back memories! I got that mage's workroom set for my son back in the day... He still has it =). Although I think the smoke broke off the cauldron at some point.

Just noticed that you painted the orange roofs gray and the gray ground cobblestones orange!

Great use of the skulls from rings and the beads! Looking forward to seeing the arch after you get all the bricks / stone blocks attached. I remember that skeleton horse, although I don't have it. Still have all the Ral Partha figures that I did get, though.
I see you got at lot of sitting figures - do you have something special planned that needs those, or are they primarily for background?

Those slanted houses unnerve me a bit - guess that proves they are successful. Where do you get the clockworks?
