Hmmm. The 'true snow' in your pics looks rather like whipped cream. Is it really that glossy? Some way to tone down the gloss might help, but of course, that is more work. Thanks for sharing your different tries at snow. It's helpful to know what DOESN'T work as well as what does.

Your new gnomes look more aggressive than their battle-hardened comrades =) Thanks for sharing these

The sea elf description in Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes doesn't describe any physical characteristics that differ from standard elves. And the commercial figures just look like elves in some sort of swimming posture. The posture of any PC or NPC is going to vary during play. I think you could go with printed elves that are mounted on some sort of marine-looking base.
One person's vision of a sea elf had blue skin. I don't see any particular reason for that, but if you liked, you could paint standard elves blue.

Fat Dragon Games has something similar, but not the large, multi-unit plateau. If the OP got his trees from the Cardboard Warriors forum, it's likely that the ground terrain also came from there - either a freely-offered post or one of the Kickstarters. Could take forever to search that forum for posts that are at least 4 years old and very likely older... Hope that someone who has that terrain will see your question and provide a more focused answer.
Update: the windmill and the bridge are from Fat Dragon games, so the hills quite probably are too, although I didn't see anything exactly like what the OP used.

Nice demonstration of making a figure from parts and green stuff!

Thanks for sharing - the trees look great! Always happy to see new alternatives. Although for me, I think it might be faster to make trees from skewers and green scrub pads... Still, all paper props instead of a mix of paper props and stuff props is probably visually more comfortable for a lot of people.

So I guess you can only do the additional details with other Speedpaints. And I wonder if that means that you cannot do a final coat of clear spray...

Nice link!
Price is too steep for me, since I don't have armies to paint and I wouldn't need a full set of paints to begin with. But the metallic Sharpie for weapons is a great tip that I hadn't seen before. Not sure if that's something you would use only for fast batch painting rather for carefully painted one-offs, but it sure does save time. Having to re-dip a small brush frequently does slow you down.

Welcome! As sgtslag pointed out this forum is mostly about crafting terrain. But if you scroll down the set of posts I am including the link to, you will see that folks have occasionally posted real-world sized items like the incredible journal Curufin made for his campaign: dmscraft.proboards.com/thread/5018/curufins-campaign

Do you know what 'plaster bandages' are? Hope that isn't too spoilery
And yes, that scene is appalling for the mental imagery it causes.
I have read all of Dick Francis's books. If you are going to take a look at them, look up a "best of" recommendation online. Everyone has their own favorites of course, but his final ones were mostly not quite as good as the middle years. Do NOT bother with Second Wind, one of the final ones. It would give you a completely wrong idea of his ability.
[Edit] I should add that 'Proof' is one of the best!

I enjoyed seeing your new rock monsters. But those dinosaurs with their heads encased in silicone mold material reminded me a little too much of Dick Francis's book "Proof"!

Dram & Flag says approximately 43 to 48 mm from sole of foot to top of head and The Miniatures Page says 48 to 50 mm, measuring from the bottom of the base, so they seem to agree. I haven't tried to figure what the AD&D size would be in mm. Looks like a nicely done set!
I like the way your storm giants turned out, although the red & purple is a little hard on my eyes =). The old and new males go well together.

You have great ideas for painting "terrain" yourself, but you might be interested in looking at the desert stuff posted here a few years back. I really liked the way he shaded his walls from the ground up and saved the link in case I ever did desert terrain. dmscraft.proboards.com/thread/3646/desert-mud-brick-town-54mmModel railroad posts on the internet are also excellent for ideas about deserts, if your story needs more than barren sand dunes.

I have always been a bit uncomfortable about the evolution of craft foam - for environmental reasons - but it certainly is useful!

Very sorry that you not only got Covid but fell into the long-term side effects category. I am amazed that you can accomplish any craft work at the moment. At least your gnome mushroom village looks cheery!
