Wow! I cannot believe I missed all this goodness! Meph ! You da man! Great looking stuff! You didn't go full blown blizzard on your stuff! Which is to say that takes some discipline! I am still learning less is more! Lol I have used a craft paint with glitter in it and it looks ok. BUT that being said I will not be using it in the future as I feel it gives the piece just a little too much "Merry Christmas" and not enuf "OMG I am gonna die here!"

gotta love the 2003 minis from wizards. they cost a lot but are so great looking.
if you want clusters of wizards, there is a sage like hooded man with a staff and white beard, cost like only a dollar or something, i have like 7 of them. perfect to go along the red robbed guy you have there with skulls,

I have tried to avoid the full blown blizzard because I also run a weekly D&D game and want my terrain to be as versatile as I can. I have only used the sparkle on a couple pieces so far and used it very sparingly. I mixed white paint with white sparkle paint and sand. It made a thick white gritty paste with a little sparkle. I think it showed nicely without going overboard.

Hey Meph, thanks for sharing your photo of your 3 story ruins. I got started on it, copying you My boyfriend bought me a 4x8 sheet of 1/2 inch foamular for like $13 the other day. I guess the main reason I went with the 1/2 inch thick walls instead of 1 inch, is that I joined the two walls with a box/finger joint -- so you don't notice the straight line down the side . Here it is so far: The ruin walls won't look blocky like that and a lot more is coming off.. I just took off a little to start to get an idea how it's gonna look.

Looks great. I have used up almost all of the foamular I have and I think my next sheet will be 1/2" also. 1" is too thick

Like Twilight vampire movie glitter sparkly! I envy your restraint! I love snow on stuff becuz it hides fault lines and ties things together!

Those trees look amazing! How tall is the tallest one and how much did it cost for the lot of 32? Did you apply the paint/sand flock to the trees as well or did they come with snow on them? Great job on those bases. Let me know how they look when dry.
I think the shape of those trees look more real than the bottle scrubber ones I have (including the woodland scenic ones).. I like how there is gaps between each tier of the tree.
I definitely want those trees! Thinking about donating mine or something. Gonna get a big box of stuff together I made but am not going to use and share it with some person on insider trading.

There are 4 sizes of tree in the package that I bought. There are 32 trees total. The tallest tree stands exactly 5" tall when mounted in my bases. Here is a pic with all 4 trees for perspective. You can see in the last pic that they come without bases and you have to mount them yourself. I ended up going with a hard matte board base topped with some good foamcore, not the cheap dollar store stuff. The good stuff has a very hard paper backing which does NOT peel off easily. I think it holds its rigidity well. I did not add snow to the trees, I bought them like that. The total price was $18.56 shipped from China. I ordered them Jan 18th and they arrived Jan 28th. Here is a link to the exact trees I ordered. That seller has a LOT of stuff there. I will be placing a bunch of tree orders from him of different types. www.ebay.com/itm/32-Multi-Scale-Model-Cedar-Trees-with-Snow-Diorama-Train-Railway-Winter-Scenery-/381457087159?hash=item58d09d3ab7:g:p3YAAOSw7ThUgD8e

And wow, only 10 days delivery?! Impressive. You can't beat that deal ... less than 50 cents a tree... wow. And they look so good too! I think I am gonna order them and donate all my existing trees and 2 toilet scrubbers ends heh.

Hey Meph, I got a question for you. How many inches from the table to the top level of your staircase ruins? My staircases are each 3 inches high .. so the top of the top level of mine is at 6", which I think might be too tall?
