It's amazing how many people have taken that build from Scotty.
I might have to watch that episode again, even if it was just to check how the scales were placed.

Man that mouth is hideously gory! nicely done. The PW was the first craft I tried. I should throw up a pic. I purposely put my scales overlapping the other way. yours is very nice.

The mouth is nicely done. It's always nice to leave such a lovely image as the last thing a character will ever see. Considerate.

Actually – I left the plates backwards because I had already cut them before I realized that one flaw, I think it looks better this way though because the scalloped cuts would not even be seen if turned around

Nice! The mouth, with the teeth slightly closed, seems like it just ate someone! This is the first build that I saw Scotty do, too. I have yet to make my own...
Has anyone made a second figure that's just the tail sticking up? How long would this worm be? These questions burn in my soul...

well aside from scales having to be placed from bottom to top, and not the other way around. i dont see it as backwards.

Realistically, if this worm is going to dig forward without ramming dirt under its plates, the plates should be attached to the body at the head end of the plate, with the free end towards the tail. But if you think it looks more impressive in this reversed form, by all means build it that way. It looks great either way, and most people probably won't even notice.

Margaret: why do you think i said you have to place the scale strating at the tail not the head ? for it to look right, you have to reverse build it. because if you start by the head, you'll end up putting th escales above the previous one. thats what makes the scale looks backward. if you start by the tail, the next scale will be put above the previous one again, but this time the scales will look right. because in the end you will be putting the last scale on the head and fit to the head itself.
its the same thing in drawings... you start by the lowest layer first, then go up to the top. same in this matter, start by the lowest layer of scales. the make your way to the top.
