Hi everybody, i'm Florian a French crafter since few months, i'm 27. I play roleplaying games for a couple years as a DM (d&d 3.5) and in 2015 i decided to push on the new d&d next. I didn't know we can use some tabletop elements to improve the game... When I saw that, I searched on the Internet and I saw Dwarvenforge, dungeonstone tiles, which are amazing, but very expensive (+ i live in France, so the international shipping wouldn't be cheap). So I decided to jump on the crafting hobby and i'm addict ! I didn't have some stuff for it, so i started to look for crafting things, and I joined the Dmscotty group on Facebook and youtube. Problem is, in France i couldn't find any foam sheet scotty or wyloch used, all we have here is 2mm larger... I decided to pick some polystyrene ceiling slabs (because it's 50mm large, perfect for tile walls and can be textured) and it worked great ! I crafted Wyloch based tiles, with some personal things, at first dungeon tiles, then cavern, tavern, sewer, and of course miniatures ! I posted some pictures on Facebook, and I'll make a topic on this forum later. Currently i'm looking for traps for dungeons and caves, wilderness decors (trees, hills, fields, barriers and others things)..

Great to have you. I like how you took the 2.5D method and modified it to your situation...that is what the Craft is all about...bravo.

...what the others said. Welcome! I see that I don't have to give you the usual warning because you've already realized by yourself that this is a highly addictive hobby... Can't wait to see what you did with the ceiling slabs. As far as I know, nobody in the community had used them before. Brilliant idea! If you want some free crafting materials, consider joining the Insider Trading scheme we have going on around here. I have a full package waiting for months to be sent to a crafter, but there was nobody in Germany or the EU who chimed in (shipping around the globe is quite expensive, but I think shipping from Germany to France is OK).
