Looks like my group is taking a hiatus until September so this gives me a lot of time to get a good set of Curufin's tiles made and ready to go =)

You should start a new group (might as well use For Gold & Glory the 2e clone) with the understanding that it is short term, and then merge them in September as you will for sure lose a few folks from the original by then.

Honestly, I am not sure what will happen in September. A couple members have been really flaky lately and a few stopped showing up entirely last summer. With 2 little kids at home, committing to Sunday evenings from 4pm to 9pm weekly just isn't doing it for me in the summer months. I may decide to continue this group through the summer on a shorter week night or we may just take the time off. I am not worried about the risk with them since we have gamed as a group for 20 years pretty much. The real risk is if I want to continue in September. Just not feeling the long weekly session anymore. It's a lot of commitment for me these days. We'll see. Feeling a LOT of burnout right now. Just going to keep plugging away at printing Curufin's tiles because no matter what happens with my group, my 7 & 8 year olds are begging me to learn to play D&D =)

Doesn't he already do the OpenForge stuff? Is he planning a Wyloch set of his own?

Oops, I really must beout of it I confused Devon Jones with Dutchmogul .. it must be that they both start with D and my brain stores memories associatively.. combined with the fact I've only eaten 2 eggs today and probably dehydrated, my brain misfired lol. Sorry. Ignore my previous post.

Actually, I just backed Devon on Patreon, and looking back thru some old messages with him on thingiverse, he did mention many of his supporters have requested his tiles in Wyloch dimensions. So he said he is working on that! He even mentioned you by name in the message lol

I just spoke with Devon Jones again and he is indeed interested in the Wyloch tiles. I gave a link to Curufin's video and to this thread and to the case for the 1.25" grid.
Perhaps he can do some co-development with this project & curufin?
I imagine he'll be reading this thread soon and perhaps this message even, since I just gave him the link to this thread.
Curufin/Wyloch -- those tiles Curufin worked on look great! Are they almost ready to be published on Thingiverse? I told Devon it'd be sometime soon. Just curious. Perhaps more time is needed to beta test everything first?
Thanks!
Jennifer

Devon has some awesome stuff on Thingverse. Nice guy. I asked him back in Feb about short walls. Here is what he shared with me... devonjones February 1, 2016 I'm in process of designing the first ground up openforge 2.0 set, which is a cut stone set. For this set, I'm making every piece in half height, normal height and double height (to help make things like castles/walls/dtamatic backplates on big rooms, etc) as well as with the walls on the tile or off the back (What I used to call edge). (so 6 versions of every tile, with most in 1x1 - 4x4 for a total of 96 tiles for each type.
After that set is released my goal is to go back over every previous set and basically do the same, while also making sure that each set has: Floor, Wall, Corner, Curved, Diagonal, Dead End, Corridor, Door, Window
So short of it is that the new set, which right now I believe I will start releasing in March will have half height tiles, and all previous tile sets will over the course of the next year or so get the half height tiles as well.

And as you get older the collective cost of D&D gets to be quite high (in terms of opportunity costs, and some folks actual money). I too have small munkins that will be rolling the bones as they get older. Actually, if you wanted to keep on DMing occassionally in the meantime, you could run a West Marches style open table game once/twice a month. This will get you lots of flexbility. There are a good deal of resources on West Marches style games, but here is the origin of them: arsludi.lamemage.com/index.php/78/grand-experiments-west-marches/

Wyloch, really looking forward to what you and Curufin come up with. I know it's going to be top notch! Thanks, Jen. We have been working very hard to get the first set finalized for release. All told, we are about 98% done, we are dotting the "I's" and crossing the "T's", and trying to get that last duck in the row. Thanks, everyone for being patient. The first tile set is coming soon, I promise. It is also entirely possible that other sets are already in the works as well
