So I got some translucent orange PLA. I thought maybe I could make fire or fire elementals or walls of fire... you get the idea... Here's a set of flames I made. You can see that they sit on top of a tealight... www.thingiverse.com/thing:1517368Here's the glowing flames from the tealight...

I've been waiting for someone to do this! Excellent job! I know I'll be printing one! Now just paint the white tealight a nice black pot looking color or stone or something?

I have an 8 pack of Orange Tea lights I picked up at Halloween that I haven't done anything with yet. Elementals was be amazing. Looking forward to see what else you come up with.

I also made my "Misty Arch" freestanding, separating it from the OpenForge tile...

So here's the observatory/astrology/summoning whatever. I used pink foam (did you know you can spraypaint it?) and various custom and borrowed 3D printed bits. I spraypainted it black, drybrushed in grey, and then did some other colors for interest (brown, bronze) Carrion Clan Barbarian for scale. This doorway leads down into the rock and then over to the main structure. It's a tomb from Winterdale 2 Graveyard, but it felt right here... The gargoyles look down... Maybe bats live inside that crack... I printed some little "pie wedges" that you can set on the stairs so that the minis will actually stay put. The entrance to the main structure is a Zombicide door off Thingiverse. I envision the structure having 2 or 3 levels. I'll probably make a custom 2.5D tile to represent movement within the structure.

I'm going to post some of the new stuff painted. Just a quick update -- I'm getting plenty of experience pulling my printer apart. I've unclogged it about 6 times now and I've had to replace the thermocouple. Good news is that I'm getting less afraid of breaking the darn thing...

Today I print Blisterbelch www.thingiverse.com/thing:163440 in "ice" -- clear PLA. Scaled him to 70mm tall. I hope to paint his skin with a drybrush of white, then paint his clothes/armor/club in opaque colors. That way he'll look like a Frost Giant for Frostgrave. I'll let you know how it turns out. Hope my hands are steady enough to paint him properly. He'll be about half this size -- still big, but not humongous!!!

I stole this picture off of Thingiverse. He's the "Warden of Midgard" and he is printable. www.thingiverse.com/thing:98361 I think he would likely print very well too...

I'm looking forward to seeing that frost giant, cool idea!
By the way, that last link you posted somehow gives me a 404, even though the URL is correct. I suppose it has something to do with the redirect the forum uses.

The paint jobs are terrible, but they'll work OK for the scenario we are planning to play. A friend is writing up a Frostgrave scenario where you are trying to steal a special artifact. On turn 3, the Frost Giants come in from the board corners to stop your trespassing... I may get my magnifying glass out and touch up the paint. It is very difficult to see the details on translucent PLA. Snow bases courtesy of baking soda and PVA glue.

Cool! (pun intended) The frost effect comes across great i.m.o., really like the bases too. It looks a bit like they're barfing I wouldn't really know what to change to make the clothes look better though...

So a friend is running a session of our Sixth Gun Game. He needed (well, I interpreted that he *needed*) a mystical orb for a scene he has setup for Wednesday. I got onto Tinkercad and imported some models from Thingiverse -- the result is here www.thingiverse.com/thing:1718513In one version, there's a hole through the orb, so that you can put a sparkly pipe cleaner to represent "necrotic energy" or somesuch. Here's a quick mock-up/paint job with a mini for scale. Enjoy!
