A fungoid drudge, how cool is that?! Well I don't think he, the Mushroom that is, is all that thrilled with his position in Life, but it is kind of fun for the rest of us. Thanks for the reply Daniel. I'm glad you like him so far. That poor flunky is epic! Sam, you might try drying some roots from larger weeds for the branches. You can get the finer branch systems and they are often less fragile than the littlest branches of trees or shrubs. They do need to be somewhat woody, though, so this might be the wrong time of year to try that. Thanks, margaret. I'm happy you like him. The absolute best branches for model tree are sage brush/tumble weed. If you live in a part of the Southwest that has them, grab them when you can. I'm priming the Guys now. Here's what they look like prior to the whhite over black: ...if the cable behaves, I'll post updates later...or tomorrow...or not.

A parcel arrived today. WOW! I can't wait to base they up and put them in every game I run from now on, regardless of setting Thanks Al! It was my pleasure to contribute to one of your inspiring projects, Paul. I am delighted you like them. Speaking of Mushrooms...the Lads are all based, base coated, & ready for some paint. The G.W. Peasant, Leo Sizechek, is there for size comparison; he's 32 mm to the top of his terrified head. The Gang: ...Leo does seem to be reacting in an appropriate manner to his setting: ...The Wizard: ...The Flunky & the Lantern Bearer: ...The Muscle: The lads should be getting some painting attention today...or not.

I am delighted you are enjoying the stuff. I'm working on the bases for the Mushroom & Leo at the moment. I might have something to post later today...maybe.

That is... wow. The paint job is at your usual standard, i.e. beyond awesome. I don't really get used to it, but it doesn't make me gasp anymore - at least not with every new pic (it's more like every second pic). However, what made me just stop and stare for about half a minute was that wizard's hat. I just couldn't scroll further down and sat there (probably looking quite dumb). For heaven's sake, how did you do that blending effect from the dark blue tip to the lighter rim? I'd give my right tentacle arm to be able to pull such an effect off! Seriously, what's the trick?

Thanks for the kind reply, Daniel. I am delighted you enjoy the stuff. The blending is pretty easy. I start with the darker of three shades of blue...all the (color) are Americana...(True Blue). I paint a little past the top third; then go back over it with a slightly more watery coat. Then I paint a medium blue (Calypso Blue) up through the still wet dark blue to a little over the one third mark...the medium blue gets gradually darker as it goes up into the dark blue. Next a light blue (Winter Blue) up through the medium blue just like the medium blue through the dark blue. Once that is dry I do a darker blue (Prussian Blue) glaze; i.e., a thin wash, over the whole thing. I hope that wasn't too confusing.

Sooooooooooooooo Cooooooooooooooooooool Thanks, Draklith. I am glad you like it/them/whatever. The positive response is appreciated. Awesome work. The amount of fine detail just amazes me. A partially eaten apple a beautiful touch. Love it! Thanks, Sam. I am happy you like the stuff...especially the details; re, I try to make each piece with enough little things going on that something new is noticed with each view...it's easier with big pieces. The apple core was made by my friend Ben aka floedebolle. I sent me a mold to make them in green stuff. I think it is pretty cool too.
