What his tattered highness just said... Really, if it were only one or a handful of such pieces of art once every few weeks - then I could console myself by thinking that surely it must take ungodly amounts of time to create each of them. But you turn them out with such a frequency... it would be depressing if it wasn't so damn beautiful!

Thanks, Tattered King. I'm delighted you feel that way. After a prolonged stare, I finished the first of the Gypsy Hench Persons. No Gypsy Band worth it's Gold Earrings can be without a Violin & someone to play it: ...seen with The Blind Seer, The Chief, & The Music Critic: ...the Gypsies are part of West Wind's Vampire Wars range.

I love how you paint! I've been painting on and off for about 30 years, but your color picks and style are something that I really like and am going to try and emulate. I really enjoy looking at your work and how you make characters out of mini's pretty much every time you paint something.
Thanks for sharing with us.

The morale boost is greatly appreciated. If you have any questions as to what paints I use, or how I did anything, I would be happy to answer them. AND NOW: She isn't actually blind, plus there are three operational eyeballs on her staff, but it is best to take a Witch at her word. SO this is Blind Esme the Seer: ...a somewhat better look at the staff's eyeballs: ... AND the Group to date: ...who know what else the day holds in store? The Shadow do...or does...or whatever.

AND the last of the Gypsy Characters; i.e., The Chief: ...with the Group Portrait: ...the Fellows with the Torches will be next, but the Gypsy Girls will wait for the Vardo. In preparation for some artsy photos I'm dusting & touching up The Witches' Isles of Langerhans: ...it is surprising where the dust settles.

"Witches' Isles of Langerhans" - OK missed that in the previous posts. The idea that my pancreas is housing something like this is ... disquieting.

It would blow your Internist's mind though. I'm not sure if the Isles, Shanty Town or the Graveyard of St, Lascivious were ever posted here. The original photos were not all that complete on the Isle or The Shanty Town, SO new pics may be in order. All that aside, thanks for the reply, margaret!

I have had a few pieces of Magical & Non-Magical Paraphernalia ready to pain for awhile. SO I painted them...I love these color background pieces. They were destined for S. White's, but now I'm not sure. Well wherever they go, here they are: ...not an Earth shattering update, but the best I could do...more or less. The Chest is a Ral Partha I think. All the rest are Reaper's sans the bases.

This is an idea that has been festering in a particularly fertile & equally peculiar corner of my mind. AND now it comes forth as something REALLY SILLY; i.e., my latest kit-bashing creation. the Infamous Goblin Faerie: ...he will probably wind up hovering over some suitably annoyed Mushroom. For those interested in trying your own hand at the piece, the parts from a G.W. plastic Night Goblin (now out of production), Reaper's 03486 Fairy Wings, Floral Wire, & some Green Stuff.

Here is the Goblin Faerie base coated & hovering over the Mushroom. I haven't decided how high over the Mushroom he will be. SO I haven't glued him in position yet. This made keeping him in position for the photos interesting: ...doesn't he have an endearing smile though?:

Making life miserable for your P.Cs is such fun! While I'm here, I have another Goblin Faerie ready for some base coating: ...have a good evening!

AND here are the Faerie Folk in base colors: ...I roughed up the bows for a wood grain effect: ... I did a size comparison with Hoggle, the Faerie Slayer. I hate not using pic; SO: ...today I'm of the see if my Cochlear Implant is working. See you on the manana!

Outstanding stuff, as always. Wish you all the best with the implant!!! Thanks on both counts, tauster! I am delighted you like the stuff. The audiologist's visit went perfectly. The old implant & the new processor work splendidly together. While I will never hear music again or the audio from a film/TV show, I can hear well enough for conversation. That is close enough to paradise for me. AND then there were four: ...all together: ...who knows what I'll do with the rest of the wings?...The Shadow do.

Watch those things, it looks like they are reproducing. I like that you add your own string to the bows. Adds that extra bit of detail. Can't imagine not being able to hear music. I get up early and the house is quiet, sort of. I can hear the drone of the steel mill across the river, the ticking of the clock, the soft murmur of insects and the occasional bird call, then the kids get up and the house is filled with noise. Love your work. Great choice of colors. Excellent attention to details. It good to see an artist at work.

In this case, the danger is my getting carried away. I was fortunate enough to have been able to hear for more than forty years before it faded & died. The sounds of all those years still reverberate in my memory..the music lives on. Now I'm happy to be able to hear a conversation once more. I'm glad you are enjoying my stuff. I'm happy you like the colors. With the details, if I've done it right, you will spot something new each time you see the piece; this is more so with the terrain that the minis, but applies to each. After putzing around with some new Mushrooms: I finally started painting the Faerie Folk...well, the Hovering Fellow's Mushroom got some attention: ...& The Group: I have the first of the bases fashioned & sanded. Once it's dry I'll paint it up & do a photo or two, but as is it provides a chace for me to show what's under the paint & static grass: ...the gray, rock like part is plumber's epoxy putty: ... AND YET ANOTHER Group Portrait: ...until later.
