This is where I'll be posting my hastily made miniatures. I'll try to make it as tutorial-ish as possible, but I forget to take pics between stages, so... It's not anything anyone here couldn't figure out (hah, pun) by them selves anyways. First up a roper i need for tomorrows game. Threw him together with Fimo clay. First I made his innards with aluminium foil. Rolled out some clay and wrapped it around. Pushed a nail/tack-thing in as an eye and sculpted some lids. Threw on a blob of clay to shape a mouth and attached a tongue. Then I stuck some tentacles in. I realize I should/could have attached more, but hey.. After the first round of baking I glued the wires in the holes and added clay. Put a few teeth in to scare the players a bit. Then.. Uhm.. I painted him. Edit: forgot that before I painted him I applied modeling paste with a toothpick, making a more rocklike appearance. Bonus carrion crawler I made while the roper was baking. Quick, easy and crappy paint job. Perfect.

These are great! And the paint jobs are awesome! I will admit though, after seeing that gold bead used for the roper's eye, I almost wish you had kept it. Something about metallic pupil-less eyes is always creepy, like angler fish, haha. Keep up the good work!

I feel sorta the same way about the eye myself, actually.

Tomorrow I'm going to the craft store to get some varnishes to make stuff glisten. I need to make these look a bit more icky.

Quickly threw together a spectator for tuesday's game. He'll be a socially awkward, book-loving guy looking to make ANY sentient being passing him by into a friend. He'll either be a valuable ally or a potentially lethal adversary. I sorta forgot to base him, so I guess I'll just glue the wire to some clear plastic and add "rocks" to it to cover some of the wire up.

I like these minis. They have a very real character to them.

Thanks, Ogrestamp. I decided it was too green and... well a bit boring. Dirtied it up with a flesh wash and added some glossy varnish to his grubhole and tongue.

I bought a couple of Hulk cake toppers from China. Thought they'd make good hill giants or something similar. They're the perfect height and they've got a pretty ok pose. Easy to pop a club in the right hand and maybe a rock in the left. In order to cover up the fact that it's the Hulk, I added a beard and a large nose. Also added a padded vest. After all that had cured, I added a bear claw cape, one boot and some fur bit around the other leg. Not super happy with the way the cape came out, but I'm going to add modeling paste before I paint it, in order to rough up the fur a bit. Will post more pics when it's getting closer to done.

Bird, maybe you could add the head of one of his fallen in that closed fist. He could be holding the head by the hair. "You interrupted my meal? I keel you!"

Started making a extraplanar, horrid creature/demon/spiderpig for tomorrows game.

Lower part spider (although with four legs only), head of a boar (or is it a bat?), plus tentacles - I like the concept! But... "for tomorrow's game? Wow - I almost never amde things on that short a notice. Respect!

The head's from a pig. Contemplating if I should smack some tusks on it, though. And yeah, it's a bit short notice, but I'm not too concerned about paint jobs. Added a couple tentacles to it's back aswell and a couple of nipples on it's tits. Can't make out the breasts on the pics, but yeah.. This thing is an abomination...

And yeah, it's a bit short notice, but I'm not too concerned about paint jobs. Just a thought: Try a Sin City - like color scheme*, i.e. black paint paint, grey drybrushing, perhaps a few white highlights (again, basically just drybrushing) - and then one or two details in a very bold color. I tried that recently and fell in love with that method, so I'll definitely do that more often in the future. * see here and here for what I mean
