My latest project in tiny gaming, Heroquest in 6mm Ordered some really cool figures from Microworld , they should be arriving in a week or two. Finished the board As usual, fully magnetised. Lots of tiny tiles / fingers to superglue Now it's on to the doors, furniture and traps...

Congratulations sir. You are brilliant. Definitely insane, but brilliant none the less. My eyes start to cross when I even think about working so small.

Now that would be a handy thing to have - an actually portable (as opposed to just moveable) HQ board! Love for the game really shows in end result. Can't wait to see what you do about the furnishings.

@ DnDPaladin
How do you do it? Easy. I just cut the tiles out of a piece of magnetic paper, glued them onto another piece of magnetic paper and painted it using sponges for the larger areas and a size 0 brush for the details.
Now I have a ton of magnetic paper that my wife brought home from work but I seem to remember somebody saying you can buy A4 sized sheets at the dollar store. As for the miniatures I emailed Steven Salotti over at Microworld Games and asked if he would make a special Heroquest pack for me as I only needed a few of each type of figure. Got a reply the same day saying "no problem" and "which minis would I like?" So here's what I ended up ordering:
8 Orcs (orc warriors)
6 Goblins (goblin warriors)
3 Fimir (dread ogers?)
4 Chaos Warriors ( Alliance Destroyers)
1 Chaos Warlock ( dark alliance command sorcerer )
1 Gargoyle (minotaur lord)
4 Skeletons (skeleton spearmen)
2 Zombies ( zombies or ghouls)
2 Mummies (wraiths ?)
1 Barbarian ( alliance barbarian)
1 Dwarf (dwarf berserker)
1 Elf (wood elf hero)
1 Wizard (wood elf sorcerer)
As you can see I had to make some allowances as certain models were not available and I had to pick something that would feel similar. On the other hand at $13.50 USD for all the minis, shipping USA to Belgium included, I don't reall mind buying more later if anything better should pop up :-))

@ Noctuary
Ah, I see you have found my backup plan ;-)
Germy does some awesome stuff, sadly Pendraken doesn't sell the complete set anymore. All the furniture is still available though so if my own efforts fail I might still order some.

really neat! I don't play HQ, but you could use this concept for any rpg if you wanted a travel set. (you could make it double sided and have a whole mini adventure/dungeon crawl for a road trip or something like that) Kudos to you!

Managed to get quite a bit done this week, thought I'd give you all a little update So, 16 open doors 5 closed doors 6 secret doors 2 double square cave in tiles 8 one square cave in tiles 1 set of stairs 6 pit traps 1 wizard's work table 2 ordinary tables 3 treasure chests 12 skull tokens and of course I couldn't resist playing around with them on the board ;-)) I also managed to clean, base and prime the minis which arrived from Microworld a few day's ago. Well that's it for now
