Okay these were 3D-printed, so part of the work was modeling done in a software. Don't know how it stands with you but I still consider it to be crafting: linkI used dutchmogul's excellent door model as a base and subtracted a 2x18mm slot from the top to the base so I could... slide cardboard door tokens in! The tokens were simply printed and glued to cardstock. I'm not showing the whole lot here; In total I have 8 doorways, 8 doors, 2 locks and 2 portal tokens. The result is doors that can be easily and clearly shown as open (empty), closed, locked, portals, etc. The doorways are 1 inch wide by 2 inches high.

Those are very nice....and yeah I still consider it crafting I always suck with making doors.....I never get them to be the same size...there always a little off (kinda like me...interesting...maybe that's why) I'm very tempted to take a page from DMScotty's book and go Mageknight with the doors, if I can find a set that's not too expensive... Would be cool to have more options especially if they are inexpensive... Sliding something in... that's one heck of a genius idea. Hats off! I don't know so far what to do with it, but I'm sure it will pop up in some future project. Very cool idea! Looks great and I like it!

This guy really makes great stuff. Here are some of his newer doors, very well designed: The doorways are simply grooves for the doors. This is brilliant. Your miniatures can fit in the door a lot easier! (sidenote: it's also easier to print, as there is no arch requiring vertical support) The doors are part of a cool little scifi tile set. Just scale it up to 28mm and you're good to go: www.thingiverse.com/thing:366172
