Now you post... I just purchased some Crayola Air Dry Clay, a few days ago. Oh, well, I belong to Instructables, and I should have looked there first. Thanks for sharing. I will likely look into these soon. Cheers! Now you post... I just purchased some Crayola Air Dry Clay, a few days ago. Oh, well, I belong to Instructables, and I should have looked there first. Thanks for sharing. I will likely look into these soon. Cheers! If you look into it, please compare with the air dry clay. They say the homemade version takes longer to dry (they mention days) and since you make the recipe yourself, it's harder to predict how it behaves before experimenting. Paying means it'll be prepackaged, behave in predictable ways, plus you don't need to cook anything to prepare it. Oogoo is basically silicon caulk. It's therefore a lot harder to sculpt and is more suited for molding, but will also be almost indestructible when cured. Perhaps clay molds and oogoo as a final material is the way to go... ...Or a mix of both to make a sculptable, resilient compound... Silicone and clays generally don't mix well. On the other hand, the most impressive achievements in science have been what the experts said was impossible. Mostly those two compounds... The model clay contains baking soda, and silicone caulk releases acetic acid when it cures. It's bound to make foam!
