I decided to just trim up the Big Skull and call it done. I trimmed up the three story Mushroom House, put an off white wash on the white, added a dry brushing of a different shade of blue to the blue spot areas, finally got the shingles done, etched the foam for texture, painted brown then dry brushed a mix of brown and black on the shingles and door… done for now. I decided not to wash the whole building as I want some colours brighter on it. Now to finish Home of the Brave decoration… pumpkin horror… build a wall with a big skull head… figure out how to use Wiffle Balls in constructing some things… finish Evil Throne… start more buildings.

Found the Magic Clay to sculpt parts of the throne and fire hands and tried Gorilla Glue (Super Glue didn’t work) to attach the pumpkin to the defective mini.

Try either epoxy (very hard), or E6000 Glue (like semi-hard rubber, when dry). Cheers!

Worked on these guys… the dwarf, magic user, werewolf and Troll are for scale. Goliath Mummies… I think they need a different backstory for my world.

I have not posted for a bit. I have been super busy with work… but I have been working on this fun model/figure. Finished except for what ever I decide to do with stand. Extra points if you all know what old school “stand alone” game (hint… but really D&D house rules supplements by third party circa 1977) I am using to try and reflect light with as I happen to be rereading them… I really need to build a light box I think.

Now THAT's a mimic I don't want to meet!
The only thing I remember from 1977 is Tegel Manor. And while that's a "funhouse" dungeon - a style your terrain pieces might go with - I don't remember anything about reflected light there.

Okay folks it is Arduin… Vol 1 & 3. Back when they came out you had to know D&D really to play it as let’s face it these were David’s House Rules. I have discovered there is a mini line for some of the Arduin more unique critters. Air sharks exist in this setting/world/game along with medusa-headed vampires called Vampusa and more awesomeness that only early days seemed to spawn. I think next adventure will be based on this… there are 4 adventures in it all short. PCs hired to retrieve dead or endangered insured adventurers… what could go wrong? Great stuff in it… special bags of holding that stop decay (magical body bags)… enough details to keep using the company in various ways in game long after. Advice concerning DMing and different party play styles (something neither hubby or I have seen much in modules) which I thought was cool. I am going to add in some unique businesses any way to my setting, so Amazon Mutual Life Assurance will fit right in nicely.

Back in the 70's and 80's, there was a lot of 3rd party products that were fun -- at least their ad's in Dragon magazine looked fun... I drooled over many of them, back in those halcyon days of my youth.
Within the past two years, I've discovered images and reviews of them on the Internet. Some have really been fun to see for real, as opposed to their tiny, B&W ads within Dragon magazines. Now if I could just find photos of the miniatures I saw, way back when, in those terrible, dark and grainy photos. I wish I could see how far sculpting has really come since the 1970's dark ages of gaming.
Thanks for sharing. Keep us posted as things develop. Cheers!

I love the older RPG books. I was/still am a huge fan of Role Aids. What T$R did to them, is truly frustrating and maddening. They put out some great products.
I am a huge fan of DTRPG.com, but especially their POD products. Unfortunately, it is the IP owners who decide what will/will not be made available as POD. If only a PDF is available, I go in search of a used copy, available for a reasonable (to me) price. Even with some of the POD's, I've found less expensive used books available. It really pays to shop around
Thanks for posting your "treasures." I found a number of NOS Judges Guild products, 5-10 years ago; bought them for little money. Love my NOS and used gaming books! I am a gamer, not a collector, so all I need is a serviceable copy; nothing in sealed plastic bags on my bookshelves... Cheers!

Sorry it has taken so long to reply, I’ve been busy.
I really love Role Aids too… today they would be in less of a spot I think. DTRPG and Judges Guild both have some great stuff. I have been happily surprised by what I have been able to track down… it’s the older official D&D stuff that seems insanely priced… though occasionally it is one of these other products that has some insane price being asked for it and I am wondering who is going to pay that crazy price, especially when I can get the same book reasonably priced. I read and play with my toys… mint in what? Games are suppose to be played and books read! 😂

I picked up the Arduin books back in the day. Still have them, they sit on a book shelf, but are available for getting ideas from.

DM Gully Dwarf aka RPG Grandma , I've taken a few legally purchased PDF's and used various editing tools (had to subscribe to a monthly PDF Editor to get the jobs done...), such that I could upload them to Lulu.com, for printing in hardcovers. The system did not allow me to make original covers, but I did not care. I wanted them in hardcover, so that I could read and use them, without them falling apart, without using an electronic device to view them! I like to hold a book in my hands, as opposed to reading them off of an illuminated screen. I also could not afford to buy the few original softcover books that were offered on e-Bay, at $200-$400 per volume, for the Priest's Spell Compendiums! I got myself a hardcover copy of 2e BattleSystem (all of these books were only ever published in softcovers). The Spell Compendiums were delivered to my door for $20/volume (low quality ink and paper -- wish I had spent the money for high quality ink and paper...), but the BS book cost me $40, delivered (high quality ink and paper, required, for unknown reasons, to allow it to be printed). Add to that the monthly PDF Editor subscription cost, of like $6, and the final cost was still dirt cheap compared to e-Bay's asking prices! Personal Recommendation, based on experience: splurge for high quality ink (laser toner, won't smudge/bleed if it gets wet; low quality is inkjet, water-soluble), and the high quality paper (clay paper, smooth, nice; low quality paper is very coarse, very definite differences in feel, and texture). The high quality ink and paper will increase the costs, but for me, it is worth the price. YMMV. I will not share them with anyone, nor will I appropriate any copies for anyone else. I spent hours working on editing them to render them printable through Lulu. Everyone is welcome to do the work, and pay the costs, if they choose to do so -- if I can do it, so can others. It was a labor of love for the products, and it was worth my time, and my money, to get them printed in hardcovers. I recently learned that Adobe Acrobat Reader will actually read aloud a PDF document, if you select that option. Apparently this is not a new feature, but it is one I have missed until recently. I will pretty much always buy both a POD copy (when offered) along with the PDF: 1) I can listen to it on the computer when I am doing something with my hands (like crafting, or painting); and 2) I can print off as many maps, or other pertinent pages I need a separate hard copy of, when needed. I wish Hasbro/WotC would offer all of their older, OOP, RPG products as POD, but I understand their position of wanting the POD to be as close to the original product in appearance, as possible. Me, I just want them in hard copy, preferably hardcovers. I don't care if they look like the original -- I buy them to use, not to collect. Cheers!

I’ve been crazy busy and sick, so sorry guys. Well I somehow ended up turning my random YouTube channel into an TTRPG channel. I have to get some filming done today in fact. Still doing TKD, but my illness issues really effecting me. Working full time, you guys know the drill. I am getting to play to currently running a human cleric named Kenny in an OSE/D&D game, so having fun with being a really annoying cleric with a gambling habit.
The folks at Emperors Choice will be putting out new Arduin rules! I had a chance to video conference after being live with Geroge from EC on a panel on YouTube so I have a bit better idea what that might look like. It sounds like an updated version of the older rules, streamlined, they are play testing it first before release. I have also had a few brief conversations with folks on Twitter who are either part of the rules project or creators of all new material (modules) for the new rules. EC is not going to release anything till it’s all ready to go though, they are not trying to jump on the antiWotC wave, just finish this project of a new edition correctly. So I am excited about that. I think I will start working on an Arduin adventure and introduce the play group to that game system when I DM next.
I’ve managed to collect all but one item on my Dragon Tree Press list, so hope to finish that soon.
I am hoping to get some crafting done this week.
The thing with my YouTube channel was a surprise. I put stuff up on YouTube off and on over the years simply because I had the account. I started doing that after noting most of YouTube’s trolls never post their own videos, pictures of themselves and nothing real about them at all… yet go be schmucks on other folks channels.. so I decided to be all hey I am a real person doing real things. So I posted some garden, chicken, TKD, crafting home video type stuff, just me messing around.. A bit more during lockdown. I had like 9 brave souls who subscribed to be subjected to my bad videos/slideshows. Then I was able to actually chat in live chat on a couple TTRPG channels and people started asking questions about me because of what I wrote… so I answered the Qs got renamed by folks on one channel as their RPG Grandma as a result, so I changed my handle on YouTube to make it easier for folks in live chat and next thing I know people are watching my crafting videos which were not even all that. I decided to make videos that explore older resources that might be hard for folks to get or even know if they want and subjects I find not covered much on YouTube… like the dreaded D&D Psionic Rules. I just started doing this, so I also cleaned my channel up a bit to make it easier on visitors too.
Anyway hopefully I can get some fun crafting in this week. Start working on an Arduin adventure, might reskin or expand and seriously change an adventure I already have it will be good for my brain converting between D&D and Arduin while making huge crazy additions. Maybe I will do a video on how to take an old adventure and reskin it, flesh it out, and change rule systems… don’t know but it’s an idea.
I hope my lungs clear up this year most though, I am sick of being sick forever.
I hope everyone is well.

Nice to see you back on this forum: it has slowed way down, but it is, "not dead yet!" (Monty Python's, "Quest for the Holy Grail," reference.)
Nice to hear about your YouTube channel, and the Arduin stuff. Maybe they will run a KS to promote it? Cheers!
