Rinse and repeat. By your fourth dungeon, you will find you no longer have to build tiles anymore. Organic (inside large creatures) Bone (Gigeresque) There is a little bit of overlap there... Hey DMG, I'd like to make a request... would love to see the Gigeresque-ness you are proposing...

Rinse and repeat. By your fourth dungeon, you will find you no longer have to build tiles anymore. 4 Dungeons?... Lava Ice Desert Jungle Subaquatic Ethereal Sewers Mines Verticals Organic (inside large creatures)Bone (Gigeresque)Caves Burrows Subterranean Urban And these are just below ground Organic (inside large creatures)Been there, done that. ...although not really regular tiles, let alone interlocking ones. Bone (Gigeresque)A dungeon set (or at the very least, some scatter terrain pieces) in a 'giant bones' theme would be more than awesome. Let's have a brainstorm (craftstorm?) about how to make giant bones! By giant, I'm talking about terrain features that are large enough for miniatures to stand and walk upon. A whole set would be needed for adventures inside an ancient carcass (how about a divine corpse floating on the etheral plane?), or playing out encounters in the Forgotten Realms' Battle of Bones, but if you send your players into the Underdark, there can be a layer with ancient fossiles, only that the weird Underdark radiation has prevented the bones from turning into stone. Oh, and maybe animates some of them... *evil DM grin*

Some cookie trays are ribbed... Could work for narrow passages.... Pull the corrugation from some cardboard and bend it?
Drinking straws cut in half length wise and stuck in rows?
Best I can come up with is make a mold of some dowel rods for super sculpey and after peeling it bend into walls and floors.

Best I can come up with is make a mold of some dowel rods for super sculpey and after peeling it bend into walls and floors. You can also get the larger plastic pipes that have the ribbing already in place. Break it down to make the walls. You can probably get a ton out of a single piece since you wouldn't be building up high and you'd still want the floors to be flat...which a layer of cardstock between the ribs on the walls would work well there. If you want something that's more of an alien hive, take your hot glue gun and run it along to gloop it up after painting, you could also do it with gloss or even white glue.

Look great!
I also like what I can see of the play surface underneath them! I would love to see that showcased as well.

tauster: you could use those halloween skeletons we buy for doors and the likes. or any doll skeleton for that matter. making things huge is easier then finding it on scale to 28mm.

I have been pondering coiling wire around a dowel rod as if I was making chainmail, then cutting into thirds to make ribs. Combine with beads for a spine, and there you go.

I began making modular cave tiles. I am still using MDF board for durability. I have a few more embellishments I want to do before I begin painting.

I finished these cave tiles about a month or so ago. They're nice and made of MDF instead of cardboard. I made 34 DMScotty cave walls. I blended a few techniques from various modular systems to make these dungeons walls. They're 1"x2" boards painted to look like stonework. I made a total of 12' of walls but realized quickly that I could have made more! I also made a lift using two DMScotty videos. I used the cardboard raft idea to make the lift boards instead of popsicle sticks. I like how it turned out. I also have been attempting 2.5D isometric system cork tiles but am having a very hard time with warping. Perhaps I'm using to much water because it's been over a week and the rules aren't completely dry (under weight/cutting boards). Berghoff cut me a bunch of tiles from MDF that I'll use to try this system.

I used DMGinfo's video on toadstools/mushrooms to create these for an upcoming underdark encounter.

I really think there's a lot of potential in the tilescape system DMScotty created. I'm running a few sessions were the players are making a mad dash through the underdark in attempt to get somewhere undetected by those on the surface. Berghoff cut me a bunch of MDF tiles and I'll be asking him to cut me a bunch more. This evening I made a stamp out of pink foam and made these!

I had Berghoff cut even more tiles. One side is painted up! Mushrooms are nearly complete! I also made eight of DMScotty's fancy pillars.

For the upcoming underdark session there will be an abandoned mining area with tracks and carts. I put together some tracks using corrugated cardboard and cardstock. PVA glue produced much better results but I got impatient and used hot glue for much of it. I also need some ladders that appear to be going into the floor. I used PVA glue to make the ladder and then hot glued it to a wooden craft token (from the assortment style bags). When painting it I hope to add the effect that it's descending into a lower level. I wanted both of these to be usable with Wyloch's tiles, DMGinfo's tiles and DMScotty's 2.5D & 2.5D Next & Isometric tiles. They should all be interchangeable!
