He kinda looks like a blue blob wielding weapons and armor. I think MageKnight failed because too many of their sculpts were questionable in terms of what's that supposed to be?

Mage Knight had 16 expansions over 5 years, it was hardly a failure.
It was retired when it became obvious that Heroclix was the obvious successor. Super Heroes have a broader appeal than MKs steam punk Fantasy setting. Super Heroes came with an instant existing fan base of rabid collectors. The Heroclix rules were also an improvement over Mage Knight. Heroclix was a superior product, that was more profitable, and cannibalized thier MK audience.
agree with souza considering i started with mageknight way before clix ever hapenned. mage knight was designed for fantasy plays and skirmishes... where hero clix is designed mainly for squirmishes and the system was stream lined and thus easier to grasp. thats why the mage knight got side tracked.
had nothing to do with minis. which people still like a lot, hence why it still sells a lot.
druid:"Do you need healing ?"
knight:"i still have half of my health, so im fine."
DM:"the boss, crits, max damage which does 20 damage !"
Knight:"MEDIC !!!!"
While Classic Mage Knight was the origin of "clix" gaming, NECA unsuccessfully tried to reboot MK in 2013 with the modern clix rules.
The set had a very limited model line, making it impossible to build proper factioned forces, and they were significanlty more expensive. So basically, too expensive to want to collect out of nostalgia, and not enough figures to play factioned forces like you used to. The model choices were dubious as well.
adam, the problem with rebooted franchises is that it is still compared to the original. while the new mage knight was based on clix engines. people already had their clix and thus why would they switch back to mageknight when they already had the same clix doing the same thing. hence why it sucked badly and nobody wanted it. at least thats what hapenned in my gaming stores.
its easy to see why it failed. we're in a time of super heroes and fantasy has subsided a lot to it. its like this war between warframe and warhammer. warframe not being played as it should even though its a copy of warhammer. simply because warhammer is the standard why would someone play anything else ?

From what part of the realms do you hail Sir Stanley? LOLOL And you Sir Stanley are born to days before my own birthday!
Spencer, just west of worcester, but i'm working out in sterling and we are out in your neck of the woods every once in a while, i saw that about the birthdays
What is the stone texture of the tower made of ? Foamcore or clay ?
I found the thought that went into the interior the most impressive part. The opening for the ladder on the top level is the kind of detail most people don't even think about.
