I found some old ceiling tiles someone was going toss. I needed a decent battle board for Frostgrave. I married the two ideas and came up with this 3x3ft board! I think it conveys a certain wintery feel. I will be adding terrain to it and hopefully be able to document the results here in this thread. The painting was done with a brown texture undercoating. I then proceeded to use a dark grey primer and a light grey primer to mix up the coloring a bit. I ended it with a overspray of white spray paint! I am toying with the idea of hitting it with some white texture paint but I haven't got a can handy so that will wait for now.

My gaming group is reluctant to start any new miniatures games at the moment, but I'm really liking the nothing but good things I'm hearing about Frostgrave.
Turning those ceiling tiles into a gameboard was a good bit of recycling. Is 3x3 the standard gaming size for Frostgrave ?

3x3 is the standard but I play on a 4x4 at the game store and that thing if awesom! Terrain in FG is key to survival and the fun. Twisting alleys ways and dead ends are a blast to work around and with in!

There has been all sorts of ideas flying around the game. Today a fellow proposed rules for using black powder in the Frozen City! All homebrew rules aside I thought about what a warband would look like. Of course I didn't pick a wizard or an apprentice yet. I am thinking if the muskets are given the same stat line as the crossbow then why not use them. Its the same concept when people ask about demi humans. They are just a stat line! As long as the mini has what it needs to have according to the stat line then why not?

Michael Jones, true, if you can come up with the relevant stats for an item, and the players will have fun with it, then why not incorporate it? Having said that, I am running a campaign and one of the players is a youngin' and he plays a pally. The party ran into an eight foot giant scorpion, and he got it into his head to try to tame it. He was pleading with me to declare it a juvenile. He didn't win his case.
