Labyrinth is one of those movies that had a huge impact on my sense of fantasy. I truly like that you try to channel that vibe.

Thanks for the reply! I will have to look up the Reaper 3" base. I do not know what that is.

Love this tree idea looks just amazing. Has quite a twisted look and the mushrooms are just a great creepy addition to the whole piece really completes it.

I love your art style. You should seriously consider casting and selling them, or scanning them for 3D printing (and to acrhive them).

Well it's now next time; SO here's some color: ...from a distance: ... AND up close: I never seem to get here as often as I'd like, but there you go. I still want to add a Happy Home Owner or two, but that will be another day. I've started work on the Goblin Village again; SO hopefully some additional photos soon...or not.

Don't get me wrong, it still looks great. But I preferred the grey...
Don't mind me. They still look awesome, but gained a different vibe to them.

absolutely awesome, your work is soooo inspiring Thanks, Draklith. Coming up with something "inspiring" is quite an accomplishment & a very kind thing to say. AAA - Awesome As Always! Thanks, tauster. As always, I'm glad you liked it...I'll try to keep it that way. Don't get me wrong, it still looks great. But I preferred the grey... Don't mind me. They still look awesome, but gained a different vibe to them. Thanks, nvdberg. I rather like the grey myself, although to get the full monochromatic effect I'd have to do more shades of grey...not fifty, but more. It is something I will have to try...maybe with a splash of color like Sin City...or not.

Stunning work! Your attention to detail is awe-inspiring to say the least. I need to know how you do the bark....or, actually, my wife needs to know how you did the bark. She loves it and has recently started crafting with me and loves your work.

Stunning work! Your attention to detail is awe-inspiring to say the least. I need to know how you do the bark....or, actually, my wife needs to know how you did the bark. She loves it and has recently started crafting with me and loves your work. Thanks, troutgames...I'm delighted you & the Love of your life enjoyed the piece(s). This tree is a couple of living oak branches/twigs. I did a golden brown drybrush; then a bittersweet chocolate& black, then Honey Brown & Desert Sand dry brushes while the wash was still a little wet...all the colors mentioned are Americana paints. I also use pecan branches & bark like on this fellow: AND made from regular & raffia covered floral wire with in this case epoxy putty bark (I'm going to try air dry clay soon): The tree roots & some of the tree limbs are a teased out coating of hot glue. If I missed anything, feel free to ask for specifics.

Real wood?! Ahh, okay. I thought that you did it with either insulation foam or clay. The paint job is incredible. It is truly a trial by error to do a new color over one that is still a bit wet but you knocked it outta the park.

It is truly a trial by error to do a new color over one that is still a bit wet but you knocked it outta the park. After more than a half century of doing this sort of thing I have tried quite a few different things out. The main thing I picked up is there is always something to learn. AND, while I'm here, I'll post the latest on The Goblin Village surrounding Rapunzel's Twisted Tower. As a result of answering my D.M's Craft Notification this is serendipitously a Grand Premiere: The new Hovel in the Hood: AND The Hood itself: ...there you go once more. I'm hoping things will progress more rapidly AND that I can spend more time here commenting on other Folks' Wondrous Works.

Not showing up for awhile sometimes can't be helped, but missing a thank you for a reply is unforgivable. SO belatedly: nvdberg: Labyrinth & other Jim Henson/Brian Froud treasure are WONDERFUL sources of inspiration. I'm delighted you can pick up that feeling from my work. troutgames: here's a link to the 3" bases: www.reapermini.com/OnlineStore/Bases/sku-down/74037The edges are flat SO you could flip the thing for a piece with depressions or puddles. flofr: Thanks for the reply. I am delighted you are enjoy the stuff & took the time to say so. DMScotty: that is a very kind thing to say. I don't tend to take my stuff all that seriously. Having a talented fellow like yourself do so is humbling...& VERY good for the morale. @mortal Knight: thanks. It's fortunate you like the Mushrooms; re, I have some more in the works. brokentoy: you are probably right about the reproducing. That is a bit beyond my grasp of IT stuff I'm afraid, but one never know how these things will develop.

AND NOW...The Steam Powered Observatory, a WONDROUS piece from ArmorCast, has been prepped, based, & primed for The Goblin Village (name forthcoming). SO without further ado, The Observatory: ...with an overview of the Village: PLUS...the Mega Morel was looking rather lonesome. ERGO, I made some friends for him/her/whatever to hangout with...what they do while hanging out is best not to consider: ...there you go. More things to bedazzle or buldgeon your mind soon...or later...whatever.

voodoo: thanks for the reply & thumbs up. I'm glad you like them. I'm getting ready to add the vines to the tower; then the painting should begin...or not. troutgames: The 3" bases are proving useful. Here's my rebased Stump Man:
