Well she isn't even close to finished. I pinned her to the base for a pic to show whoever is interested the color scheme and progress. Lots of clean up and highlighting to go. I decided to use a very dark blue for higlights on the scales. You can barely tell in the pic.

I love the colours you've used for your dragon. That is one very nice model figure, - what make is it?

Thank you very much! That seriously was the worst assembled DnD Mini I have even seen when it started. I used Tamiya's modeling paste to fill the craters between the pieces, and spent about an hour chiseling the lines. Never trust a one dollar bear. I gave up and just started painting at that point. The paint job turned out to my expectations, and I am very happy with it.

Update on the dragon for those who are interested. I finally finished the head and neck of the dragon. It is an extreme close up, and you can unfortunately see the brush strokes. Very subtle dark blue highlights. Gloss varnish in the mouth. Satin varnish on the scales. Matte Varnish on the horns. I was basing the scale tint and texture on several varieties of black snakes. The tend to have a slight sheen and a blue black coloration from the photos I saw. Moving onto the Wings after this.

Well I finally sold the Necron army that was rotting in my closet ...Sacrilege! Brother, it went to a good home. Hopefully they get more use out of it than I did. It pained me. I love me some Necrons.

Well I have been working on this for about a month. I spent a great deal of time highlighting the scales and taking my time painting this beast. Finally finished, I decided to spray a Matte Sealer on it. I have never used this sealer, and I should have tried it on something else before using it on her. It came out extremely glossy, and washed out every bit of highlight I did. It muted the color in the body in a grayish hue. It looked horrible. I tried to recover using paint on varnish, to take the shine down. I have no idea why a matte sealer came out glossy, but I will never make that mistake again. I am going to call her finished now. I will call it a lesson learned.

Thanks. It is table worthy, and I am going to be pumped having her on the table breathing acid everywhere. She looked remarkably better before the incident.
