In an attempt to keep all my silly miniature posts together, I just created a Mini's thread for them. I will continue to post my mini pics in here. This will hopefully keep me motivated, and possibly give others some ideas on paints schemes and such. This is probably good forum etiquette, but this is the first forum I have ever participated in.
Regardless, these are the Minis I have painted in the past week. I am actually quite happy with how they turned out.
Old Ral Partha 25mm Mini - From the Thieves 3 Pack
Goblin From the Legends of Drizzt Box. I like the Ochre colored Gobbies better than the green ones.
The Original mini is on the right. I hated the spooky "Scooby Doo" face. I decided to cover it up with some hot glue. It got out of control, and I was covered in wisps. I felt like I was trapped in the pit of some giant spider.
This is a mini that I have had for a while. It was pinned with green stuff filling the gaps, and some putty to cover the metal Reaper base. It was poorly painted and sat in a box. I pulled it out last night and repainted it. The color was based off of a pic of some eagle I saw online. I am happy with how the eyes came out.
OK.. These guys were given to me by my kid. He wanted me to repaint it and use it in my games. I thought it was sweet, but they are the perfect scale for a giant frog. I agreed to his terms. They were neon green with black dots. He got them at Chuck E. Cheese from playing the games there. I wanted to see how real I could make them look. I discovered that by painting the iris metallic gold it has the same effect that real frogs eyes have. Interesting tidbit, when I find some good Bullywug minis. Anyways here they are.
Note: Frogs are terrifying. They will eat anything that they can fit into their mouths. Well Giant Frogs are terrifying.
I bought this bear on Ebay for a dollar. It was part of the Castle Ravenloft Game. This was perhaps one of the most messed up minis I have even attempted to paint. Saying that the mold lines were bad is an understatement. Where the pieces were placed together, there were huge gaps. I fill the gaps and removed the mold lines where I could. Some are still visible on the model, but I am very happy with the paint job. Especially the face.
Speed Painted some Reaper Bones Zombies
The game that I am working up has a reoccurring villain for the first few levels (Unless the players get lucky and capture or kill him). He is a really old ghast that is working as an agent for a bigger baddie. This is a painted up Reaper ghast. It is the ghast that comes with 2 ghouls. I wanted to attempt a more cartoony paint style. I think it came out great. Looks fantastic with the normal eye.
