While working on the Purple Work, seeing some of the Beholders, and my slugs I got the idea for Scooter. As you can tell he isn't finished. The hole in him I am going to fill in with teeth.... And it sort of hit me. Is it a plant or animal? I don't have any stats for him, I was just messing around and wanted to see how it would turn out. I'm half convinced it is either a plant or a fungus. I'm halfway thinking of painting it a bit brightly, like a tropical fish, parrot, or some sort of tropical reptile/frog or do you think it would look HR Puffinstuff?

Hmmm, may not even need teeth with a fungal thing Draw a victim into the mouth, suffocation death, "poop" the body out after a few days to feed the spores it leaves on the corpse. Actually one of the PC races in my setting is fungi. Stole the idea from another setting someone else had going.

Wolf, I have a minor ecology in my world based on fungal creatures. One of them is a fungal "creature" that grows into the walls, floor and ceiling of caves and sprouts a bunch of different "creatures" that perform certain functions under its control. They appear to be different fungal creatures that the PC encounters but the whole thing is all one fungal mind controlling everything. It creates some cool situations.

I haven't seen the otyugh before, or have and promptly forget (as my old age kicks in ). On the home world of this race there was another advanced culture, they achieved about 1980's level of technology. They had a major over population problem as well as political problems which resulted in a massive nuclear, biological, and chemical confrontation. The war wiped out a large percentage of the ecosphere. Molds, mildew, and fungi tend to like dark wet places like caves and basements, after the initial fires the outside was a all you can eat buffet for these life forms. The fungi because the dominant bio-mass on the planet. Some different types of fungi clustered together (a bit like coral), allowed some specialized adaptations and evolution. Some strains tended to focus on digestion, some on movement, so that a new intelligent species that evolved from this wasteland. They are an alien race that is pretty hardy having come from a highly polluted environment. They also have very limited shape shifting ability.... Nothing like a typical shape shifter from hollywood or books in that they can make an exact duplicate of something. They can grow an arm or such no problem.... but if they wanted to shape shift into a human form they would look more like the Pilsbury Dough Boy than Abe Lincoln.

just did some minor mods before spraying him with a base coat... A row of gap tooth toothpicks (cut down) and balling some hot glue at the end of the tentacles because the twist ties were showing through on one or two of them. I'm working on some tiles now, as well as going to finish my sand worm up. The place I was supposed to show up to for my contract on monday rescheduled till the 18th so I need something to do to keep my mind from thinking about being broke till then Hopefully will have a nice little rush of stuff to show ya'll. I may have an easy way to make a mini 55 gallon steel drum. I am prototyping it now. If it works right the thing I used as the molds can be gotten for under $15 (and would give at least 10 molds).... I just had a bunch laying around.

I feel tempted to ask if it still holds 55 gallons despite being miniature size.
But the I figured that was a redundant question. Of course it can! I mean, breaking the laws of physics is standard procedure on the DM's Craft. We make cardboard into awesome

Not sure how it is working with the wet toilet paper & glue.... I might need to spray the molds with cooking spray and try using some plaster or something like that. I super saturated the stuff, and it is enclosed so it might be days before the thing dries enough for me to post on a thumbs up or thumbs down. I use my GM Power of Handwavism to hand wave away that it only holds 35 gallons in scale EDIT: not using the air dry clay, BA worm. DM Scotty was right about it being top heavy, and extra top heavy with using my texture putty..... Little thing I did was to hot glue inside the worm butt, pout in some aquarium gravel and pulled out the heavy guns and glued in two lead sinkers from my tackle box (fishing). Extra gravel and sand on the base.... I have a feeling tomorrow it going to be extra mess fun paint day.

Having the same problem with the paint on him, might be the brand of spray paint I picked up, using black instead of grey, or the craft paint I am using....
But I am thinking that is it is some sort of mold/fungi creature a bizarre painting effect might actually work... but it was not the idea I was going for.
