So we were given the Purple Worm (which I love!) . But the treacherous seas offer another mystical beasty. The Kracken! I would love to see what the masters could do with the idea, but understand I am going to attempt one. I'll have another thread up in the proper section, albeit much later.

No worries. Head was half a styrofoam ball with card stock eyes and mouth. Tongue and arms were tp or paper towels, and the flexible modeling paste.

Here was my attempt it's still needed paint but since you asked about it I thought I'd share. It's a ping pong ball aluminum foil and hot glue.

This inspired me to take a shot at a kraken design. I haven't painted it yet, but here it is. I'll post it in my miniature thread once I have it painted, but that might not be for a bit, as I have other things to make for a session coming up.

I think I'm going to add another pair of tentacles. Needs one more pair. I have no idea how to introduce this into my campaign though. Maybe I'll have to save this until they are much more powerful.

I like the idea of crafting several pieces instead of one giant 'miniature'. This way it is much more flexible in combat than one single piece! Plus, you can use the tentacles for other things like spellmarkers or different monsters.
I still have one or two dozen unfinished tentacles, so I only need to paint them and make a kraken head. *rubs hands*

Having separate pieces for the tentacles also gives a fun way to have the monster reveal itself. A tentacle could come up and cause some havoc, and when they engage it, another couple tentacles join in before the monstrous body shows itself. This also gives each tentacle the ability to act like an individual monster. I've added two types of tentacles. The thicker will have a higher HP, a lower AC, and a harder hit, and can only go 20 feet feet the body. The skinnier one has a lower HP, higher AC (on account of it's agility and speed), and can reach 40 feet from the body. The skinnier one, however, cannot hit as hard. I'm excited to test out this kind of play.

Looks good dmnate. I did mine as separate pieces for that very reason versatility and I planned on the kraken being separate hps. And if it grabs a ship with four or more tentacles the captain and helmsman make a saving throw vs death if both fail the ship is pulled under. If one passes then the ship is beginning to break up under the pressure and takes damage. If they both pass the attack failed to harm the ship but the kraken still has the ship grappled and the crew must fight off the tentacles to stop it from attempting the attack agian.

How ironic... I just posted my own kraken that I made some time back in my thread here! Some of these look great though! Here's the link to mine, if anyone is interested. dmscraft.proboards.com/post/24653
