The roper was the creature that brought me to D&D. You've inspired me to make one... and maybe, a COLOSSAL ROPER!
Sounded good when I typed that out, but I don't know what I would do with it.

Might I suggest keeping it on your mini shelf and always put the minis for your encounters behind it. That way whenever you stat to set up a combat you can pull it off the shelf and ask one of your players to hold that then get the minis you need. Everytime they'll wonder "Is this the end?" ashrothedm

Sure, but long term, I can see myself waking in the middle of the night, all groggy, and suddenly I'm terrified by this cyclopean monstrosity in the darkness. It's probably not that bad... unless I make it large enough that it would be.

That is seriously spectacular, dude! Wow! Do you have any pics of the build process? I'm glad you like it, thank you. Sorry I've only got one photo of the build but you can pretty much see how it was made. I was inspired by DM Scotty's stalagmite vid, I love way drips of hotglue echo the water/mineral process which creates stalagmites in nature. Body: cardboard and hotglue. Tentacles: Hot glue over wire. Eye and Brow: Green Stuff. Mouth/teeth: Cardstock. When making the stalagmite I left one area clear of Hotglue where I was going to put the mouth. I cut a hole there. I cut all the little teeth, glued them on a cardstock disc and then slid the disc up into the stalagmite and glued it in place. In this way I created the recessed teeth/throat. Painting was fast and simple. Black spray paint. Then I put blue masking tape over the eye and mouth to keep them free of texture paint. Hit the whole model with stone texture paint just like a dungeon tile. Finally highlighted with grey and hand painted the eye and mouth. ROPER Attachment Deleted!
