I'm creating a ship dock and detailing the posts I want it to simulate low tide so barnacles would be exposed what could I use. I thought about white glue dots like you can do to create metal studs and once dry poke a hole in the top of the bubble. This is the look I want to achieve The dock will work with this model and as well ill detail this with the same technique on the bottom of the boat. I plan on creating inner decks in 2.5d m.ebay.com/itm/Art-Minds-Wooden-Puzzle-Early-Military-Sailing-Ship-New-Unopened-/111022439771

You could use kitty litter depending on the scale but at 28-32 mm it should look pretty good painted and off white or depending the area a slimy green!

I bet you could get a good effect with construction sand, too. It's amazing what it can simulate.

Take tin foil, poke holes through it with a pin in clusters. back fill with a fine layer of clay or putty. Wrap around the pylons. Undercoat and paint.
