This dungeon level was inspired by me not following DMG's golden rule of Cut once, measure twice. The hallway tile I made was 1/2" too short, so I decided to make an acid flow on one side coming from a pool in another room and flowing to a sewer grate in another room. I will make some kind of monster to come out of the pool like DM Scotty did in one of his vids.
Let me know what you guys think...this is basically the first time I've done this Thanks again to DM Scotty and DMG for sharing their creative geniuses with us

I like it. It's really neat, and the acid is very well done. So hey, sometimes mistakes end up being awesome

We in the DMs Craft do NOT make "mistakes." We make "happy little accidents" because they end up firing up even more ideas.

One of my players noticed a gap between tiles (due to measure, cut, damn). He pointed it out. I told him a gravity well was now pulling his character into the spacial rift... he offered me a chocolate muffin as appeasement. The spacial rift was now an interesting dungeoneering check to find access to the lower level. The moral of this tale is always bring muffins for DMG...

Thanks all for the positive feedback. LOL I re-read my post...the mistake was 1/4", not 1/2"...not only can't I measure correctly, but I can't even explain my happy little accidents correctly

I am a big fan of acid sharks. They are in Dungeonscapes, a 3.5 book, if I recall correctly.

Where is all that acid being produced and why? Where is it going? Wouldn't it burn your lungs and eyes just being near that much acid?

There were ways of making acid, back in medieval times, as well as powerful bases (lye soap production required lye from firewood ashes, if I remember correctly; don't remember how acid was produced, sorry). The acid could be from an alchemist's experiments, a mage's spell/potion research, or an acid producing monster could have had its natural weapon harvested to create this horrid trap/situation by the complex's owner/occupier. Being the sick, twisted puppy that I am, I would say the acid is covered in a layer of oil, which floats on top of it, preventing the acid from fuming into the air (when acid turns to gas, it can be breathed into the lungs; when the acid vapor mixes with the water inside the lungs, it turns back into acid, damaging lung tissue -- real-world science). Not only would that thin oil layer keep the acid vapors minimal, it would also pose a secondary hazard -- drop a spark onto the liquid, and instant conflagration, with massive acid vapor cloud forming from the fire and heat, to kill any air breathers in the vicinty... I like that set-up for a trap. Thanks for asking the question, and sewing some very sadistic seeds of destruction in my brain... Cheers!

Thanks Sgt...proving once again the huge value of this web sites worth 100 fold. I did not have an answer for that question as I am still wondering where to even use these tiles in my adventure.

the green liquid doesn't necessarily have to be acid, either. it could just as easily be a river of slime, or just a nasty, polluted water....
