Im stuck on this one, I started painting this one back in August I think, its been like this since September, and I need some pointers. Late 90s Ral Partha Amethyst Dragon for the old 2nd Ed Council of Wyrms boxed set campaign, bought new back then painted terribly and this is my second go; So I tried for various purples and dark blues in the shadows and I went for the standard gem technique, where light hits the top and ends up along them bottom of the gem fading darker as you go up to the final white dot of gleam. I need to figure out how to paint those gleaming dots or edge hightlights, Im open to any suggestion. Havnt done the orb or claws yet either so hit me up with your thoughts on any bit of it if you dont mind? Thank you

Light colored dry brush to bring out edges. Not much of a Dragon painter, sorry. Looks great, so far.
Bought the Council of Worms book early this year. Itching to run a Dragon campaign. I have a good idea how to alter the level progression for Dragon PC's. Would be a real blast, I think. Cheers!

Thank you!
Yeah, hundreds of years of slumber to level up is challenging to pull off

Their idea of playing humanoid/demi-human lackeys for more normal adventures, is a great concept in the book. I love the idea of playing a powerful Dragon PC, but it would get constraining after a while. Playing their Dwarf/Gnome/Elf lackeys, on "normal" adventures, would be a nice change-up in the games. I could have a great deal of fun with running Dragon adventures, and lackey adventures. It would scratch the itch to play both lower-level adventures (lackeys), as well as high-level adventures with uber tough monsters (Dragon PC's). Eventually, as the centuries roll by, the lackeys would die off, being replaced by newbies, and the Dragons would rise to become Great Wyrms, which would be like demi-gods, in my games, but it would be a hoot. Never played anything like that before. It would be very different for all of us.
Problem is, I need to convince my players to buy into it, to play it out. That is a tough sell for a variety of reasons. My two sons are still playing PC's they rolled up at age 13, when they started playing, some 20+ years ago! They are just reaching Name Level (9-14), with them, and things are really interesting now that they have some real power, political more than magical. Cheers!
