Here it is folks, working on other units but for now this is my Rogue Trader mk6 styled Salamanders Chapter.
This paint scheme is gawdy but Ive come to love it!
2 types of Rapier field guns, two paint jobs.. Long story.
Tactical #1 you can see a nearly failed print on the heavy flamer on the left. I made these out of several parts available on thingiverse, Ive messed wiht everything here in some way except the Servitor with chainsword and the rhino.
Tactical #2 the heavy flamer on this one was printed in the same batch and nearly suffered like the other. We will no speak of the 2 other marines from that same batch that were absolute failures!
The Rhino!! So cool this design(not mine), still working on the weathering, but shes done for the most part!
Rapier laser destroyer! I made the tech priest out of available parts from thingiverse, and is downloadable on my Thingiverse page.
Rapier #2, Was a heavy bolter, but I spliced in the cannon because its cooler looking. also available on my page (all free)above.
Well thats it for now, I hope you all like it and find time to work on your backlogged projects, and have some fun!!

40K is not my thing. However, I never would have known these were 3D printed if you had not shared that information. Were these resin printed? They look great, to me. Thanks for sharing. Cheers!

Thank you Sarge! It is resin, using an Anycubic Photon.
Its been a double edged sword, freedom to print and make anything but also a hassle to clean up and make supports for some prints.
Biggest drawback is my Pile of Shame tripled

I recently discovered some excellent Gnome figures, and I would love to double the size of my Gnome army. However... I do not want to add any more figures to my painting queue. My queue cup runneth over, already!
What has stopped me from getting a 3D printer is the learning curve, and the fact that I really don't know what I would print with it? I know I can get free STL files for all of the monsters in the D&D Monster Manual, but I don't need models of all of them. I also shudder at the thought of adding them to the painting queue.
I love making terrain pieces. If I print them, it takes away the creative side of my hobby. I also do not want to have to store all of the terrain pieces I might print...
The 3D printers fascinate me, but they are still too complex to learn, for me. That, plus I don't need more models and terrain! I am hoping to paint all that I have in the queue, now, before I die. My life is getting shorter, not longer. I want to play with all of my toys, multiple times, before I die. Many have seen table time, numerous times already, but many others have not graced my gaming table even once! My storage space is limited, as well.
As I get older, I am becoming more stringent on my choices. I have to be realistic in what I can/will achieve, in the time I hope to have left... Choices, choices.
All of that aside... I enjoy seeing what others are doing with their 3D printers. Thanks for sharing! Cheers!

I agree, I dont make terrain with it beside barrels and a few bitz for accents. Also with all the games we play its been a boon to get all the different PC minis out before gamenight.
It does remove me a bit from the challenge of hand making bottles and scrolls, etc. The real trash to terrain experience.
I will say however with the prices going down for the printers, its about equivalent to getting a Proxxon or something like that. As far as the learning curve, I am in the same boat but promise you its far easier than I thought it would be; its mainly time consuming with cleanup, and depending on the print making supports and adding bitz, etc.
