Howdy crafters... As I've mentioned in a few other threads, we're coming up on the final battle in the Rise of the Runelords adventure path that I've been running for about a year and a half. As a thank you for all the hours of fun I wanted to give my players something to remember the campaign. At first I thought I'd just buy them each sets of the Rise of the Runelords dice but I really wanted to give them something memorable. And that's when my Crafting muse spoke to me. How about a unique box to house the dice? So taking glue gun in hand and turning slowly to the looming stack of cardboard, this is what I came up with: Nothing surprising here. It's all painted cardboard and card stock but I think it came out very nice. I wanted to give it a sandstone like texture so I went with browns. Attachment DeletedI put a square of foam at the bottom of the box so the dice wouldn't rattle and on the chance they might want to roll dice in the box (though the sides are a bit tall to make it a truly effective dice tray.) On the underside of the lid is a smaller square of cardboard (not pictured) which makes it fit snuggly on top. The symbol on the top (for those that aren't familiar with the adventure path) is special to the story. Also picture here are the Rise of the Runelords dice. Attachment DeletedFinally I put a label on the bottom with the dates of play and used the aging technique to give it some flavor. Attachment Deleted

Finally a picture of all the boxes together. One aspect that I like about this is that they're all "unique" from the painting. Attachment DeletedA big thanks to DM Scotty, DMG Info, and everyone who have guided me "The Craft" including those that provided inspiration. I think my players will like this.

This is a really awesome gift. Hope your players at least got you a "world's best DM" coffee mug or something. Thanks everyone! I had a good time doing it and it really makes for a fancy presentation for practically no cost. bloodchoke They were very appreciative. There was talk of starting a thread on Paizo's form titled "My GM is better than your GM". lol.
