Inspired by Halloween pics sent from my friends, I decided to torment them regularly with glimpses from my crafting stuff. Most of them are roleplayers themselves and the rest knows of our hobby, so there's little chance anybody will send the police, or ghostbusters, my way. At least I hope so...
So from now on you'll get a daily glimpse into my little Chamber of Horrors. [add gloomy echo here]
...
[and imagine blood dripping from those red letters]
Contrary to my friends, you migt have seen these abominations as they were made. I am not sure this is an advantage though. Comments are welcome, appeals for mercy will be ignored. Continue at your own peril.

A very (l)ickable smile, which hints at a profound sense of humor. And that guy has brains, too.

Interesting abomination. Do you work up stats for each, or use an existing creature's stats when in play?

Both. When I don't recycle an existing creatures stats, I just wing it and make them up during the battle. We play 2nd Edition ADND, so you don't have the more complex stat blocks of later editions. Most of the time, during preparation I jot down HP, AC, ETW0 (= older version of the BAB), damage, # of attacks. Supernatiral abilities and spells, if applicable. Thats it. The rest is improvisation at the table. Not that this works well each and every time, but it's a nod towards limited prep time and my unwillingness to work overly much with crunchy rules.

Vile abominations first thing in the morning to get the blood flowing... literally!

Glad you agree, erho !
So here's a close-up of another abomination. The complete thing is a giant mound of construction foam living flesh (see here, here and here). The creature sits in a giant cave, a secret production site of a family business who is market leader in street food of a metropolis in my campaign. This thing is constantly fed vegetables, fruit and spices, while its secretions are bottled up as the finest sauces which are the foundation of the street food empire's success. The party is about to discover that secret in our next session. Can't wait to see my player's faces when they piece that story together!

The close-up, above, looks like a terminal case of mouth cancer... Glad I did not fill my coffee cup yet, or my white shirt would be brown. Blechhh!!! Thanks... I think.

As important as an endearing smile might be, like that of the previous two entries, even more important are beautiful eyes. Which is something the Oculants do have, even though their paint job isn't finished because their creator is waiting for an inspiration regarding the appropriate colors, for months.

...more warm & endearing smiles: Two pumpkin heads* on experimental fly markers, my heaviest D6**, with my favourite self-paninted mini on it. And in the background, a bunch of otherworldly horrors in their prison of frozen time***.
* thanks to deafnala, who sent me a sweet little package with a few of his creations in. I made molds of the pumpkins, so I can play around with then without having to fear using up this precious supply.
** this 8cm badass is solid marble!
*** painted milliput tentacles, mossy willow bark, all cast in clear apoxy resin

OUTSTANDING! The Jack O'Lanterns look SPLENDID on their coiled vines, ready to strike. VERY WELL DONE!

While it is certainly not yet wintry around here, today's entry definitely shows some cold tendencies: We have a eight-legged giant Wolliped (Paizo) on a customized winter-themed base, a snowman with a red fez in the foreground (guess his nickname), a crash-landed flying ice-critter and finally, a giant troll head I used to make a mold, so I can use his lovely features in several kit bashed miniatures.

Neither terrain nor monster today, instead the spellbook prop of my PC, a gnomish artificer.I keep my dice and various other props inside.
Those blank cardboard booksafes are a joy to work with, and I have another three waiting to get turned into something awesome.

I need to keep a barf-bag at hand whenever I look at your thread. Your stuff creeps me out, as well as making me a bit nauseous. Cheers -- I think...

Thanks for the praise, I think.
I don't do beautiful monsters. First because I can't even if I wanted to (I'm a bad sculptor!) and second because abominations are cool because they can be slain without discussions about morality.
...and yes, sometimes we do have those discussions anyways.

LOL!!! It was meant as praise. You have a real talent for making abominations! I agree, as a player, it is nice to just kill something, without a moral consideration. "It's just... Wrong. KILL IT!!!"
Cheers!

Nuke it from orbit.
I'm not thrusting my +2 into that thing, even Remove Curse couldnt shake the stank off it!
