So, I was trying to figure out how I was going to do some rocky terrain for our campaign, when I happened upon some of that crushed cardboard packaging material. This stuff has "texture and dimension" in spades, to quote dmscotty (whose techniques I so obviously deploy here), so I thought I'd see what I could do with it. Here be The Grim Lands! Took the packaging and cut it up, essentially creating a "modular" rock set. These promise to be very versatile for many outdoor scenarios. I left some openings, which can be used for anything from dwellings to caves to ambush points. I can't remember who first showed the tavern floorboard technique here on the forum (my apologies), but I took that idea and made a flagstone path. It was very time consuming, but a lot of fun and the effect was pretty cool I think. The top-down view. Another stolen idea (my apologies again for not remember who), taking grape branch clusters and turning them into trees and bushes. Have not finished the flocking yet, but they look very creepy, and really evoke the wake of an ice storm. Thanks to dmscotty and all the crafters who inspired this piece!

I loved those formed paper package shapes. Very cool use of them. Readymade rocks just add paint.
