Hello all I have been hanging out on the forums as a guest and admiring all the crafts of you wonderful people. I figured it was time enough for me to throw my crafts into the ring. Also forgive me if I mess up images and all seeing as this is my first forum post :/. Alright so I have no in progress and I'm new but I did do the forum initiation of making a purple worm. The worm is just the DMScotty Special with a kitty littered base. Oh I also used florescent paint so I can black light him and make him glow.

After a few hours of flocking by hand it pulled together pretty nicely. Also picked up some spray adhesive for the soil and lawdy lawdy I have found the flocking promised land. My next task is to purchase some moss for the tops of the trees so they look less how you say... bad and build a crypt. CHALLENGE ACCEPTED Materials: Styrofoam, Plastic cover thingy, cardboard and adhesive(s) of choice. Progress: Ill get back to ya Also a beholder... I know the rules.

Nice work! I particularly like your forest, even though the treetops aren't finished yet

Welcome! Good looking stuff. I'd love to see that worm lit up.
Personally I do trees by twisting pipe cleaners together. And soaking them in pva glue/water mix.
This makes the cotton on them quite rubbery and texturized in a bark like fashion.

Great work. I think the tree bark did come out well. We played that Matthew Colville starter dungeon as a sort of prelude to starting Lost Mines of Phandelver. I'm looking forward to seeing more.

There's a bit of a visual disjunct between the rounded angles of the clear plastic roof and the more defined angles of the foam sides and door. If it's an old crypt that has been quietly aging in the forest, then it would have debris in the angles. Gluing a bit of sand along the angles and above the door [just a tiny bit], with a small pile on either side of the door ought to help provide a transition. You would have to add a bit of a base at either side of the door to support the sand.
If you aren't sure you would like the effect, try it with loose sand. If it helps, then shake it all off, add glue, add sand, and paint it.

The color changes between the lower sides, and the main crypt, are also too much contrast, IMO. Try darkening the main crypt, to better match the lower sides. Cheers!

Progress!... ... and pitfalls you may notice like I did that the eyestalks are missing a key element... SO another coat is in order for tomorrow.
