New here, but I've been watching the YouTube channel for a while and getting inspired. Anyway, I don't really have the time or friend group to game much at the moment, so I make custom monsters and send them to the DMs of the gaming group I used to be part of. (Super secretly, of course, so that the players are surprised!) My stuff is made from cheap materials mostly, with the sorts of techniques DM Scotty uses regularly. This one is my favorite: it's a giant mohrg that (somehow) got chopped in half and drags itself around by its arms, dragging its guts. I call it "Death Himself": I imagine the PCs first meeting some crazed NPC shrieking about seeing "Death Himself!!!" deep in the dungeon. The base is a dollar store skeleton garland from Halloween. This is a Sun Giant for a desert campaign. It's based on a dollar store ninja figure, with the clothes mostly cheap dollar store craft foam (see the WIP shot below). The base has real sand on it. The Sun Giant figure is meant to represent several giant guardians of a series of small pyramids, one of which was destroyed. I built the pyramid out of a dollar store sand toy, with dollar store foam board as stone blocks; I designed it to be both intact and destroyed. The sand is real sand, again. Also for this desert campaign, I made a Crawling Apocalypse (it's from a 3.5 supplement). It's basically a kraken mummy. DM Scotty's Watcher in the Waters build helped me think this one through. The tentacles are foam curlers from the dollar store. I'm proud of the eyes, which are glass cabochons (I think that's what you call them). Wrapping it all in bandages took forever!

'Awesome' isn't nearly enough to do them justice. Love them!
Especially Death Himself is ...epic! A bit of foreshadowing from the DM, like scraping sounds and moaning nearby in the dungeon or some background music with those elements and then, when they have hit a gul de sac, this guy appears behind them. *snigger*

COOL STUFF! You have a better Dollar store than any available here in Texas.
The only thing of use I found were a couple of small bags of floral foam balls & cones.

The dollar stores, including the Dollar Tree, should be getting their Halloween stuff in now. It's a good time to go shopping if you need skeletons, spiders, and bats and bones - some of the skeleton chains have interspersed bones that are a useful size

Thanks, all! This is a nice pick-me-up: I'm in the Houston area, and life's gotten a bit complicated over the last two days...

I love this stuff! I'm also so happy this time of year that the Halloween decorations have hit the shelves. Bags of spiders and plastic skulls!

Have to say, Death-Himself is my favorite of the three (because that's something I could probably do!), though the Kraken Mummy is a very close second!
How did you make the skin for the Mohrg? Toilet Paper?

Yes, toilet paper, with white glue/water mix as the medium. The entrails are cotton twine, and the tongue is just twisted wire. I appreciate the encouragement!
