Inspired by a recent DM's Craft episode I put together a canopy bed for a well-to-do's bedchamber. Here is the piece. Attachment DeletedI designed the piece so that the canopy could be removed. I can put some removable finials for the posts to give the piece some flexibility. (For example if I wanted to make it easier to see into the bed for whatever reason.) Attachment DeletedLastly I wanted to add some "royaltyish" touch but didn't have anything handy so I sculpted the lion's head out of air dry clay. Attachment Deleted_ I painted the lion's head and finials with a metallic brass. I also wanted the fabrics to have a little shine to them to make them silky so I added a little silver to the blue paint. Cheers, MM |

I also had this picture I forgot about. It's just the basic form (which should hold no surprises.) The posts of the bed are chopsticks! If you don't hold on to those disposable chopsticks from the take out place, you should. They are handy not only as raw material for crafting, but using a craft knife and sandpaper one can make surprisingly useful sculpting tools out of them. Attachment Deleted |

Thanks everyone! With all the inspiration you and others have given me, I'm going to have to craft up some storage solution to get these things organized (and off tables, desks, etc. My wife is giving me nasty looks. I don't want coal (again) this year.  ) |
