Thanks. I need to dial it back some though. Right now I am ready to get back into it so I am all gung ho, but I have found that if I don't cool it down the road some I tend to burn out for a while. I am really trying to get my basic tiles done so I don't have to spend so much time printing and I think I will be using printed maps more often, since the prep is so much easier.

I agree ive sort of veered away from tiles an boards, with a few exceptions here and there. Ive found that my dm and our group goes more for the imagination part more than the physical so some props like furniture or doors help out but making whole rooms just tends to get in the way more than improving the game. Plus you can add quick sketches showing spells or damage a lot easier than on tiles/boards

New group that for the most part hasn't played in 20 years so I figured some new dice were in order. I am a junky and have a LOT of dice so I figured I would pickup 7 sets with pouches on Amazon. 2 of the players have been playing all along and have lots of dice so they might not want new sets but this gives me enough for a set for each of the 5 players and a set for each of my kids, who I plan to run through LMOP also. Pretty good deal for the price. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01H5ZPXYA/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&psc=1Wow, that's a great deal. I think I paid €8 for just one set of dice.

heres your CoS or your definition of a sandbox in one image... if you dont understand my point from that point forward, then im happy that you are happy with so little choices. PS: choice is always just an illusion when you know how to DM.

Blah blah blah....This is why I said not to get you going again. You are the same guy that used the example of your players slaughtering villagers "because they wanted to" and raping other player characters as a true sandbox because you allowed them to do anything they want. As you were told by me and many others back then, that isn't sandbox play, that is psycho play. I fail to see how my thread about my gaming prep was an invitation for you to come and crap out of your mouth some more. If you ask me an opinion I will give it but I most definitely don't go looking for your threads to crap on them, stay out of mine please. PS: choice is always just an illusion when you know how to DM. Save that line for someone else. I most definitely know how to DM and have been doing it with many of the same people for decades. The players respect each other and they respect me as a DM along with the content I prepare for them. You have shared your stories of your players. I don't know who I feel more sorry for, you or them!

Very nice posters! I have thought about running some maps down to a local print shop to do the same thing. Those posters are so good looking, I'm going to have to move my desire into the "get-it-done" category. I can see that wall space at your games is premium real-estate. Using wall maps in conjunction with table presentations really helps cement the players' hold on the "reality" of the game. I thought of using a service such as Cheap Banners for this purpose. With all encouragement: Well done! Bravo! Huzzah! Game on!

I will check around and see what I can find for locals. Historically I always ran my own homebrew world. Even if I ran a module from time to time I placed it in my world. For the first time ever I think I am ready to play in Forgotten Realms. I like what they have done with it with 5E. I like the long APs they have created and I like the 1-2 hour Adventurer League content they have created. I never had any desire for League style play but I have a source for all the AL modules and I plan to use them as I want for small side adventures. I really do hope at some point soon they expand the realms beyond the Sword Coast though....although not too fast as I would love to run my group through all the current content.
The only real downside to running this stuff is all the amazing maps that Mike Schley has made for them. It's going to cost me an arm and a leg over time getting it all printed. I hope you are right and I can find a local printer that can give me better prices.

I can't tell how thick the paper is on the posters you paid to have printed, Meph, but I would highly consider having them laminated. Increase their life span and you could use grease pencil or dry erase marker on them. Of course that adds further expense...

I have settled on a final layout for Redbrand Hideout. The first pic is the layout. The second and third pics are with the elevation added for the middle section. The left side is lower as per the map. The right side I still need to make the higher elevations but instead of one piece like the large chasm room I will be making each room separately so I can add them as they explore. For the stairs I used the Dragonlock Stairs which were the perfect width and worked great for a 2 inch elevation.

Trees! This is the first of about 15 I plan to make. 3d Printed tree and flocked with cheap craft store stuff. I think it came out great. The models are from the Winterdale kickstarter and 2 of them are Treants. I have a lot of printing to do.

Those trees came out really well. I backed that KS, now all I need is a printer.

I also agree with the above statement. Gamers who are that dedicated to play deserve the "fruits" of the well earned trek you have given them. I have not had a group like that in some time lol.
