Hello Everyone,
What I am going to post about is a bit different than what is usually covered on this forum, so I hope they are not too out of line. I have been making miniatures, mainly historical miniatures, out of wooden craft pieces from a craft store like Michael's or A.C. Moore (things like spools, shaker pegs, caps, precut wooden pieces, etc.) since about 2010. I have recently returned to my roots of fantasy gaming, especially D&D. I thought it might be fun to try and make a complete Heroquest game out of these pieces. Of course I wasn't satisfied with that and decided to do more traditional D&D monsters and such. So over the past several months I've amassed a pretty good collection of hero, monster, and dungeon accessory miniatures as well as some dungeon tiles depicting hallways, turns, T intersections, and rooms.
I ran a game yesterday at a small local gaming convention of a home brew rules game similar to Heroquest, Warhammer Quest, Dungeon Saga, etc. Definitely a board game, but these figures and pieces could easily be used for an rpg. Also, for more on making these miniatures and accessories, please visit my buddy Dale's blog, here is the link.

He has his own take on making figures from these same materials. He also takes a little more of a scientific approach to this than I do.
Below is a link to my photos of some of my miniatures that I posted to Flickr. I set them to public, I hope it works! First time trying to use that site.

I tried to take pictures of all the heroes by category (fighter types, arcane types, demihumans, etc.). I also have some pictures of the wooden pieces that I paint to be the floor tiles (this would be 1D for this group, though, as I don't have any type of wall on the side). There are some pictures of doors (I turned the skull door around backwards, but you can see it on the picture that simulates a game). There is also a picture of some dungeon accessories like tables and such. And then a bunch of pictures of monsters. Finally, a simulated game "action shot" with a barbarian, wizard, warrior priest, and halfling burglar doing some dungeon delving. All but the burglar are in combat with a bugbear and evil knight, with some giant rats sneaking up on the wizard. The halfling burglar thought he had quietly made his way off to open up a chest in a nearby hallway, but it turns out it was a mimic that is now attacking him. There are also a group of shriekers in the corner that alerted the monsters to the party's presence in the first place.
If my link doesn't work, you can see most of these figures and accessories and dungeon tiles on Dale's blog that I gave the link to above.
Hope you enjoy them!
Matt
