Hello, just thought I would share this little piece I made with the help of Curufin.
He sent me a box full of cool little nick nacks, so...I was able after long study, to assemble some of those bits into this temple/shrine.
He sent me the white plastic pieces you see in the first couple of pictures, not sure what they were, but he sent me the "EXACT" amount to build this structure... WHOA!! The spire like things off the back were made from pieces of wood very similar to paint stir sticks, I just drew the pattern on the wood, then cut it out with dremmel.
The base and the structure itself are magnetically locked, thereby allowing the structure to fit into small areas.
Based in black, and based with styroboard piece glued to a thin piece of plywood
All painted and based...just drew into styroboard with a pen and ruler, to get the carved stone look on the base
The torches were made with q tips mixed with pva glue, then sculpted into a flame like pattern and painted
Outside columns are made from wood dowels
Over sixteen layers of paint for me to achieve this look(the spires), and honestly still not really happy with it
thanks for lookin
thanks Curufin

Oh, and another thing, those torches are the best q-tip and pva torches I have ever seen! Did you sculpt while they were still wet? I may need to play around with that..... and then re-do all my torches.

Yes sir, A little manipulation with some tweezers while wet can make for some great results, then squeeze out your excess, allow to dry
then paint yellow, and accent curves with some orange...
