Message me your mailing address and I'll mail both of them to you. I've already sent the thingverse link to a friend of mine who has a 3d printer. He's got a que of things to do for his own hobby stuff, so I'll get them in a week or two. I sent him your comments about the supports and whatnot. He's printed out so much stuff I'm sure he'll take care of it. Thank you very much for the offer though. I guess one of the whole advantages of 3d printers is you can send the info about the object digitally and not have to mail it physically

Well here's the Mausoleum so far: Still need a door, a cap and some effects. Do you think the following would be a cool dome for my Mausoleum? I'd print it out on my 3D pritner.

Well I think it'll look good.. printing out now. 3" diamter, that way 1" base minis can fit around it on the roof still.

Yes, that's awesome. I don't know about 3d printing, but when you do something like that does it come out solid inside?

But even if it was "solid" you can set it to only 10% infill which creates a very sparse yet very strong beehive like network structure inside.

That's awesome that you don't have to waste plastic. And now that you mention the behive structure, it's definitely making the pictures of part way through printing make a lot more sense.

Here's a snapshot of it in the middle of the print job for this dome: The bottom piece is called a raft which pops off without too much difficulty.

One way to get rid of the print lines if they really bother you is to rub a small amount of acetone on the part with a q-tip, it actually melts the plastic a bit. We have done this on the printer at work and I have done it on a couple of my prints I made. You just want to use very small amount and watch carefully as you do it.

For some reason the 3D printer only printed the bottom 21mm of the dome, then stopped. I saw curufin have a problem like this in the recent past; any ideas Curufin/Meph (or whomever else bought this printer)? Now I have to figure out how to chop the sphere and print everythign above the bottom 21mm. Then glue on and use some modeling paste or whatever to conceal the seam.

I've been having fairly decent luck with brushing / stippling on a thinned down modeling paste.

I never thought to use modeling paste, that would work as well and no danger of ruining the part.

So I need a Genie since it is in the Frostgrave beastiary. I looked at some on Reaper and was only satisfied with the one that cost like $8. When you add shipping it'd be more. Found this one though and printed it for like 60 cents or something. It's large. Here's a start on the paint job I guess. Good enough to play. Need to work on some highlights and perhaps a dip? I need to still paint the sword (not shown in photo). The silver blade & gold hilted sword will add a lot and distract from other little issues. I need to repaint the torso and arms and do my highlighting again but in a different way as not to highlight the polygon lines.

I think you should add some dark vertical shadows to the torso like where the vest meets skin and around the arms, and maybe add a base with some cotton ball flocking to give it that little extra detail. That is a pretty model/print could you post a link would love one for my game

I don't know where you looked but Auggies is my go-to source for cheap minis. When I bought my case of Rage of Demons I ended up with multiples of these. Since most people don't need multiples, they are abundant. You can pick them up really cheap if you stay away from the mains places like coolstuffinc and miniaturemarket. When I buy cases they are great because they deal in volumes, but their individual prices leave a lot to be desires. Here is the official Djinni that the model is based off. $1.59 each. www.auggiesgamestore.com/catalog/dungeons_and_dragons_miniatures_painted-wizkids_dd_sets/djinn_rage_of_demons/302263

Meph, how much is the shipping on that genie? $1.59 is nice but if I have to pay $5-8 shipping I still feel better about spending 50 cents printing it. I tried to find the shipping but they make you give them all your details before calculating shipping cost.. hate that.. I like the sites that let you type in the zip code to estimate shipping first before demanding all your personal ifnromation.
