Free is probably a misnomer. It was made from found materials, years of clutter and crafting surplus.
I made some changes from the AP but it is not major.
I started Friday night I have been piling up foam and other items for awhile and wanted to use some. The Stockade made a good excuse.
This also gave me opportunity to experiment I have had a can of decoupage glue for months and saw a craft video about using fabric. So I wondered how they would work adding different textures.
The beginning. Foam Cooler lid
Foam packing extra
Failures in fabric experiment I used a blue fabric to simulate water (I was unaware my wife had blue craft paints) the blue fabric did dry blue not visible here because I rushed putting a semi clear sheet of wax paper (bag cereal comes in inside the box) the wax paper did give it the gloss I wanted but it did not let the glue underneath cure hence the blue fabric stayed white. There is a second fabric shown here and it also failed to work not because the fabric in question is actually leather from an old skirt. Normal fabrics dry stiff and retain their normal color the leather no. I was able to fix this with some green from an oil pastel (crayons that are oil based) set I had. This is how I got the grassy area green.
Fix 1 I was able to use some blue craft paint my wife had to paint the wax paper blue the texture of the wax paper worked well.
I know that most here dislike the grid I have yet to free my players I was able to add a subtle grid by sticking push pins into the foam at the corners of the "squares."
The finished product I used an old "Pier One" placemat that was mad of twigs. To form the stockade walls.

Tanks!
I have more of the leather skirt and more oil pastels so that might make another appearance as grass or with other colors who knows.

I created the interior of the building from the original scale. I made the floor from wood vinere I ran a pen over the surface to create the planking. The furniture I simply cut out of an old dungeon tile and used more of the vinere for legs. And the head board on the bed.

So I used this tile in game today. It was a blast. The party arrived while a small Mt top fort was under attack by ravenous ghouls. One new PC was rescued from being buried alive for the ghouls to eat later. Another NPC was at the top of the tree. A gnome wizard who likes to blow stuff up. I had not made my fire effects yet. So I jut described things as on fire. The host bust out actual candles.
