Hi, I'm Chuck, just your average run of the mill human being, who at the age of 50 still plays D&D with a group of friends on a regular basis. Though we are on summer break now so to speak, LOL.
Anyway, the group I have been playing with for the past 15 years is made up of a good mix of peeps. I'm not a DM, but I am the group "prop" maker and have been acquiring things and making little things up for the 3D effects on the table. Good props really help spruce up the game, that is for sure. Even something as simple as tables and chairs can make a big difference during a battle or investigation of a room.
There were a couple of other websites I looked at over the years, making mostly warhammer or Sci-Fi stuff. I would incorporate a few things and make some props based on their ideas (I'll post pictures shortly). Then about 2 weeks ago, don't know why it hit me, I said to myself since everything in the world is on Youtube, why not prop making? Then of course I found the DMGinfo and DM Scotty's channels and I have to say I've picked up and learned more in the past 2 weeks, it would make Mr. Spock's head explode from all the amazing ideas. And simple too!
Then of course I followed DM Scotty's link to this site and have been amazed at all the quality work everybody has been posting here. I feel like I am light years behind, but slowly catching up. Fortunately for me though, I already have most of the tools used here, so it was fairly quick for me to jump in and start crafting dungeon tiles and rooms that my group is already pumped up about!
Wait till they get a load of the Purple Worm family I am currently working on! Plus my grand project I started collecting materials for a few months ago.
Anyway, great job everybody, learning a lot more and looking forward to contributing here as I think of crazy things to do and so forth.
Oh, and I am also a Paranormal investigator (ghost hunter) for the past 5 years, so my mind is already thinking way outside the box! LOL
