Hello ladies and gentlemen, I am a 40-year-old gamer who has recently rekindled his love of tabletop RPG's thanks to DM Scottys videos on YouTube. Way back in the good old days I played AD&D and also DM'd Palladium fantasy RPG (does anyone even know what that is anymore?) but because of college, work, & kids I fell out of the fold. About four months ago I came across Scotty's videos on YouTube and long story short, I have been crafting and dungeon mastering 3.5 ever since. My 13 year old daughter and my 20 year old son are both playing in my game on a weekly basis and I want to thank Scotty personally for the inspiration that has led to hours upon hours of good quality time spent with my kids enjoying the game and the craft . Sorry if this is long-winded – I'm very excited to be a part of this community, I am going to create a photo bucket account right now and will post a link so that everyone can see what I've made so far Thanks Here's a small portion of my stuff s173.photobucket.com/user/Pgaddy5/media/Mobile%20Uploads/CA0AEC4A-9CBA-42DA-BEAE-76E8A486B7A5_zpst31tkblp.jpg.html?sort=3&o=1

Welcome aboard Big Daddy. There are a bunch of us who are over 40. Work, family, being an old geezer who needs cheater glasses to read can be a pain in the butt. I sort of lucked out but will be entering hiatus season soon. Halloween Season is our busy season. I took over GMing a bit at the haunted house, giving our GM a chance to actually play. Best thing I liked about TheDMG, DM Scotty, and the rest of the 2.5d stuff was (well being cheap helps) but the major draw is being able to paint the same type of item for a different genre. I tend to stick to modern and sci fi stuff.

My Wife was a little taken aback when I took off so quickly on my new hobby – but there are a lot worse things I could be doing other than sitting back in the garage cutting cardboard and painting The best part about it for me is seeing the look on my kids and grandkids faces when I bust out my new project during a game, the fact that they actually look at me like I'm kind of cool again makes it all worth it! I've always loved the idea of working at a haunted house – how did you get into that?

Thank you very much – I had planned on posting more pics but I live in Indianapolis and we have had major flooding issues the last few weeks. my gaming/crafting room has 5 inches of water in it right now for the third time in two weeks, it's heartbreaking, I had really looked forward to starting some new projects and posting pics all weekend but now it looks like I'm going to be cleaning and using a wet vac instead Maybe with enough cardboard and hot glue I could seal up the foundation and stop this from happening again – Scotty, do you have a video on that?

My Wife was a little taken aback when I took off so quickly on my new hobby – but there are a lot worse things I could be doing other than sitting back in the garage cutting cardboard and painting The best part about it for me is seeing the look on my kids and grandkids faces when I bust out my new project during a game, the fact that they actually look at me like I'm kind of cool again makes it all worth it! I've always loved the idea of working at a haunted house – how did you get into that? Strange story. Actually met a girl (I'm 46 and she's 45, so I guess woman, not girl) who has been doing the haunt thing for about a decade. I haven't been through a season yet as we've only been going out since Thanksgiving. Sort of a unique haunt in that it is hooked up with the the Lions (charity), it's improve, if you've been with them for a few years you can touch the customers, and they use real (dulled) weapons instead of foam props. It's a fun time. One of the things I like to point out to newbies is that YOU will see all the little nit picky flaws in your tiles and props. Setting them out on the table the players won't see any of that. They are usually just blown away by the cool factor and that you went out of your way to make the stuff. I'm running a horror game there. A sort of Warehouse 13 & Supernatural blender smoothie. One of the kids made another reference which I am brain farting on at the moment. I hated the toilets I made, was just a stop gap craft till I got some soda can pop tops (someone posted them on the forums). "He even made toilets for the motel rooms" was what was said instead of "that sucks". I'm working on a cactus. Ones I made before were good. Hot glue, wire hangers, and sand. Wanting some difference I'm trying paper clips and cardboard strips with a coating of paper mache. Half the fun for me is getting a good build and then seeing if there is any other way to get another good looking finished product. The cactus are for a post apocalypse setting. One of the players mentioned he likes PA and it is one of my favorite genres. And having gotten Wasteland 2 recently I've got some adventuring planned out.
