So I have been useing model car glue (for plastic models) on my bones minis well through weekly use the parts I have attached seem to just fall off and the bases are beginning to do the same thing lately so I would like to know what the other fine folks on these boards are doing to prevent this.

I use Gorilla Super Glue and I have had zero problems gluing Bones minis. Are you washing your bones with soap and water first? They often still have mold release compound on them that can inhibit gluing.

That result is unsurprising. The stuff you're using is probably "polystyrene cement" (It's somewhere on the tube). It works by melting polystyrene and letting it flow together. Bones are not made of polystyrene (they're PVC). Therefore it will have very little effect except making them smell like oranges. Reaper recommends superglue (cyanoacrylate). PVC cement would also work, but it's serious overkill (normally for pressurized pipes) and kind of chemically nasty. Silicone and epoxy are also effective, but more trouble than you really need.

I use super glue or gorilla glue. Gorilla glue for big models only though, it leaves an odd looking residue. Generally any old super glue will work, dries clear. Like Curufin said, bones come with a thin layer of protective oil-substance on the mini. Give it a good soapy water bath with a toothbrush. I always do it as standard procedure. Model car glue is probably not the best choice. Go pick up some super glue at the dollar store. It is cheap and lasts quite a while.

One thing you might want to consider for the superglue is that the Gel superglues are easier to handle than the normal varieties, it's the same basic stuff, just that the gel isn't going to run all over...and there's less chance of you gluing your fingers in the process because the normal runs like water for a bit. The gel also dries faster so you don't need to hold the pieces in place as long.

I usually pin my minis. It takes a little extra time, but when I use that method and epoxy I never have issues. You would have to forcibly rip them apart and put effort into doing so for them to come apart.

I use E6000. Find it at Michaels in a silver tube. Seems to do the trick. I've used epoxy too. Both are kinda stinky so open a door or window.

I've recently switched to the E6000. I used it to glue in the wings on 25 MK Zombie Dragon Rider's mounts -- the wings kept falling out, so it was necessary to glue them, in order to avoid losing some... I also used it to glue the Zombie Dragon's feet to the vinyl floor tile bases I made. It seems to be quite strong, once it fully cures; it dries to a consistency of vinyl, at first, but eventually, it hardens pretty thoroughly, usually after 24-hours. I also had to use it to secure a few of the undead riders to their Zombie Dragon mounts. After this experience, I am completely sold on it.
I have some Red Box Dark Alliance, soft plastic Goblins (1/72 scale "Orcs", standing in for Goblins, alongside 28mm Humans) to their Warg mounts (Light and Heavy Orc Warg Riders). I wasn't sure what glue would hold, but I believe the E6000 will do the job nicely. Hope to test it out in the next week, or two. Cheers!

I have used superglue (cyanoacrylate), I have altered the position of some model limbs, just cut, glued with superglue and applied green stuff epoxy putty directly to the model, no issues with that method at all. Gel superglue is more convenient to use, but you do pay more for it. Remember, when using a lot of this stuff, ventilate the immediate area and if you feel your eyes start to sting, use a fan to divert the fumes.

Thanks for the heads up guys I think that I'll be going with super glue it is cheap and I typically work quick so I don't think I will find to much of a problem with it. I will definitely be keeping the fan on as well efficiency can not be achieved if I have to vacate the room lol.
