Well I've had Rapunzel's Twisted Tower sitting around with no plan for finishing The Beasty. Then I did a Goblin Hut that was inspired by one of the Reaper Forum Folk's Faerie Tree Homes (Pingo): This got me to thinking...always a dangerous thing with moi...that it would go OUTSTANDINGLY with Rapunzel's Digs, but may be one more would fill it out nicely. Now, being one of those easily enthused types, I have a Village underway: ...that's Scary Mary's Place in the foreground: ...this is Scary Mary at the back window: ...getting carried away with things can be fun...usually.

awesome doesn't even begin to describe it. as usual with your creations.
Your stuff is better than many commercial products; have you ever thought about getting some of your stuff digitalized in a 3D scanner and then 3D printed? Or make a professional mold and cast a small series?

Your paint racks have some potential too!
What were the materials for the house?
Cheers

Or make a professional mold and cast a small series? Thanks, tauster. Your motivating reply is appreciated. There are a couple of Guys from other fora that are thinking of having my Mushrooms cast up in resin. Thus far nothing has come of their plans, but one never knows. I hadn't thought of the 3D thingy...actually I have no idea how that works, but it might be interesting to look into. Your paint racks have some potential too! What were the materials for the house? Cheers Thanks for the reply, teazia! The racks are available from Michael's. They're pretty sturdy...I've had mine for quite a few years now. These buildings are solid. I used layers of 3/4" & 1" insulation foam that I stacked up to form the rough shape of the structures & then carved. The roofs are 1/8" foam with wooden coffee stirrers foe shingles. The chimneys/stove pipes are plastic tubess with a sheet plastic base; their top covers are green stuff to resemble my mushrooms caps with a 2 mm bead & head pin topping the piece supported by two plastic strips. looking fantastic, can't wait to see your colors Outstanding work! I too, cant wait to see it all painted up! Thanks, Draklith & curufin! I'm delighted you both like the stuff & took the time to say so. I can't wait to have it all painted up either. It's been awhile since I finished a board...long enough that it is starting to seem daunting,

In your primer I will say this would make a terrific nightmare scene or parallel world setting love the dark twisted look of it myself.

Thanks, troutgames...glad you like it! I'd like to try some 2.5D interior of the pieces for gaming purposes...if I had a game that is. In your primer I will say this would make a terrific nightmare scene or parallel world setting love the dark twisted look of it myself. I have been tempted to try some scenery in "grey scale"/monochromatic style. I like the atmospheric effect...not having to come up with a color scheme is also a plus. It would be like a 30's or 40's movie; if the miniatures were done in color, it would be a bit like Sin City. It is something I'll have to try eventually...or not.

My next campaign I will be doing a lengthy adventure path where the PCs get sucked into a plane I have named The Grey Scope which is what they are currently in this campaign fighting to keep from merging and overtaking the material plane your primer technique will be perfect if you don't mind me nabbing it up.

Please feel free to borrow any ideas that you think will be useful. Normally I do a heavy black wash over the piece & a white drybrush once the black is dry. For greater depth, dry brush when the black is not quite dry, & again once the black & the grey are dry. Like DnDPaladin, I would love to see how The Grey Scope Adventure plays out.

Thanks for all the kind replies, Guys! dragon722: "Inspiring" is one of those compliments that every creative type hopes for; thanks again. I'm with you with you on the completion thing...finishing things is a WONDROUS feeling. nvdberg: Labyrinth is a major influence. I'm delighted you can see it in my stuff. DMScotty: It's always a major plus getting a good word from our Founder, Guiding Light, & TRULY Creative Person. Thanks MUCHO for the kind words. troutgames: The base is insulation foam, stacked carved, & mounted on one of the new 3" circular bases from Reaper. The tree roots are sisal cover floral wire covered with hot glue & teased into a rough, stringy texture. The hanging moss is Woodland Scenics Fine Turf & hot glue with some Gorilla Super Glue for stiffening. The front door is balsa, styreen strips, head pins, watch parts, & a bead. The trees are pecan or living oak branches/twigs. AND as threatened, MORE photos...what would a Goblin Tree House be without a couple of Mushrooms? ...next time things should start getting colorful...or not.
