How do you avoid melting the foamcore when you spray paint a black base coat? Normally folks brush on white glue (any pva or elmer's glue) on foam surfaces. This can be thinned down a little bit with water if you don't have much on-hand. You can even add some acrylic black paint to the glue so you can avoid using spray paint directly.

Had to modify to fit our 4x8' gaming table. Here is Wave Echo Cave complete as we played it. After finding the tunnel that led them into the ancient cave, they had to deal with the remains of a dwarven Rockseeker brother and 2 rot grub swarms, after already defeating a couple Bugbear soldiers. They pushed through the rough opening and into an ancient cavern... and 2 Black Puddings... ack! Okay, no problem. The acidy smelling Black Puddings were put down. Man, still smells like acid around here. Oh no Gelatinous Cube! Oh no he ate the Goose Gertie and is filled with her blood! Time to run! The druid popped the door ahead, but the Gelatinous Cube dissolved all the blood and is.... wait that thing is really slow. Okay, lets get to the room. Okay, the Cube is gone. Let's move on. Crap a Rust Monster! Not my plate mail and shield...Noooooooo! Damn you bug! Okay. Relax. We searched the Assayer's office and other nearby rooms. Let's head through that very tight hallway... there is a weird glow coming from it. Oh no! There are... what the crap are these? Fire Elementals? Fire Demons?? Why am I bleeding profusely from my nose. What is that weird moss everywhere... I am light headed. Huh. *Plop* down goes the Druid from not making CON saves. His blood now providing fertilizer to the moss. The Fighters push through making their CON saves. "Druid get up, you halucinated. It's only Fire Beetles... they are harmless. This Blood Moss though, very dangerous. That is why there are so many bones in here." "Hey I found a secret room, it's where the moss is coming from. And there is a huge Silver Statue in here. Whoohoo!" Okay. We regrouped and headed into the Wizard's Chamber. And we found a Wraith. We then ran as fast as we could. Hey what is that? A flaming skull? A flameskull? Oh cool a smelter attached to a water-wheel. Hey that flameskull thing hurts bad! Ahhhhhh run! It burns! It burns! Okay. All healed up. This must be where the Black Spider is held up at. Bust it down! Catch that Black Spider. He opened that door and kept running. What's in there. Oh great Giant Spiders... a bit on the nose Black Spider. Oh look our other Dwarven friend is dead in back. We are too late. Ah ha! Kill the Black Spider at last! Victory is ours! Total reverse angle:

Oh man, you are really going to make me up my game. I am running LMOP right now and planned to just run the caves with a printed map due to the size. Now I might have to rethink that idea. Nice job.

Lovely setup! thanks for sharing, although I will have to stick with something easier to store, myself Yea, you are absolutely right. I was able to donate this entire module of stuff to my local game store to let other DM's use any/all and run it. Now it is their problem.

Now I can't see any of them... I can't either... Sometimes I have difficulty getting my pictures to remain on my posts. Not sure why that happens.

I can't see any of them either. Really want to see how you did Wave Echo Cave. My group is starting Part 3 this week, then Cragmaw Castle, and I figure they should be on to the end of the adventure by the end of January.

See, this is why I have a love/hate relationship with this board. I LOVE all the great pics and cool ideas...but I HATE the fact that I love to craft, but get to use my stuff so infrequently. Sigh. I'll never leave though till they close this board down.

This is some AMAZING work! I am thinking about running a group through this module later this year and I was wanting to do some builds for the different encounters like this. What would be your estimate as to the amount of time it took to build and paint all of this to have it ready to use?

That looks WONDERFUL; just the way I always imagined a dungeon crawl/adventure should look. OUTSTANDING WORK!

I watched an interview with one of Gary's sons. He said they rarely used miniatures in his Dad's D&D games. I find that humorous. Gary birthed D&D out of his passion for miniature gaming, and he rarely used miniatures in his RPG's... Humorous, indeed. Cheers!

Yeah and no high cost like Dwarven Forge or long build time like hurst arts. (don't get me wrong their stuff is pretty nice, but cost vs time vs storage vs moving stuff around......crafting is the way to go IMHO)
