I'm back! Sorry for the long absence, but I've had a few 'issues' to deal with. I'm still dealing them, but I got lonely for y'all!
So, to celebrate my (ahem) "Triumphant Return", I will post here, pics of what I've been up to. In fact, whenever I have some thing to share in future, I will share it here.
With out further delay, here is my insanity on parade:
A Steampunk Heart
My Swap Album featuring the Steampunk Heart and 'Wrought Iron' corner pieces made from hot glue.
Art Journal spread: Let You Troubles Roll By inspired by the song of the same name from Carbon Leaf. This spread is mixed media, using homemade alcohol inks, homemade 'washi tape', acrylic paints and 'table scraps'
One of my handmade art journals. It is bound with the coptic stitch, because that allows it to lay flat no matter what page you open it to.
'Dragonflies' is a spread in my small 'Experiments" journal. It is an altered Medical Speller (c.1972), in which I try out different teqniques before putting those efforts into one of my good journals or onto canvas. Look closely, you can see some of the text through the irridescents of the dragonflies wings.
'Healing Time...Again!' This journal page represents my frustration with my health situation. The chains show my anger at being chained to a body the keeps breaking down. The dangles (which move up and down) represent the up and down nature of my health. The green is my wish for healing and the blue is my attempt to be calm and patient.
Goddess of the Night. This spread is in a small scrap journal. I have layered tissue paper, paper towels and colorized sheet music (the goddesses hair) for the background texture. The rest is a blend of acrylic paint and watercolors.
This is the cover of the scrap journal the goddess is in. It is made from several pieces of card that I had laying around. I bound it together with a simple pamphlet stitch and decorated the spine with ribbons.
A pencil sketch of a friend of mine.
a 4x6 post card I made using table scraps and home made texture paste (white flowers). The sentiment literally came off of a paper towel.
Another postcard. this one has torn up book pages for background interest, sprayed with homemade alcohol inks and painted in acrylic. All of my postcards start out as cereal boxes.
That's it for now, I'm tired. I'll post more when I get another burst of energy.
I intend to start work on a Tavern/Inn fairly soon. It will be a fairly large undertaking, as I am planning 3 maybe 4 stories plus a tap room, basements and cellars, guest rooms and stables.
